What part of the pedal are you talking about? The actual pedal platform, metal toe cage, straps?
If you want to use the same pedals but a simpler strap setup, you can use just velcro straps and no metal cages.

If you want to go clipless, Shimano M520 are one of the more popular pedals. It's cheap, double sided, and durable/reliable. Plus you can buy mountain bike style SPD shoes that have tread/recessed cleat so it's easier to walk around.
Did you buy the bike used already fully built?

My favorite setup (for riding) to date -- by far. The Tektro hoods are so comfy (and the lever so effective) that I don't think I even need the top mount "interrupter" lever anymore. And it took me long enough to get here, but the double-sided Shimano pedals just work.
I think I'm finally done monkeying around with this bike.

Honestly, pedals are easy. Super easy. MKS track pedals and toe clips, Zefal Christophe toe straps, done. The chunky double toe strap thing you have going on there really cheapens the look of the bike IMO. I don't know/can't tell what it is but it smells like Origin8 from over here.

Don't mind IAmSam -- he's just the resident crank. In a forum with a few of them, that's really saying something

Thanks. I search Shimano M520 but it is not my taste.

One year of browsing the forum and sourcing parts got me here. Lazy, I know, but I really like how this bike fits me now.
Rat traps, skinwalls and a front brake are on the way. Oh, and a I also have to get rid of that Unicanitor (and replace it with a Turbo or a Flite?). And get an aero seatpost.

Thanks. With that said, you absolutely did the right thing by buying a newer one, because you have at least been riding and enjoying it this entire time. These bikes don't exactly grow on trees, and searching for one in your size could take awhile -- months, maybe even years. You can start your search now and sell your current bike later if/when that time comes.

Damn, that's a huge bike. How tall are you?
