One way commutes at 25 miles each on Monday and Tuesday gets me to 468 miles for the month.

Unfortunately today is a dreaded "suit and tie" day for a job interview so no commuting. Planning to duck out of the office in the afternoon and see if I can get home in time for some quality time on the dirt with my full squish mountain bike.

300 miles MTD. Terrible pace this month. Too much stuff getting in the way of rides.

Readjust monthly goal down to 600.

Don't feel alone in that. My monthly mileage is way down. I'll be hard pressed to top 700.

Forty five miles of commuting today gets me to 544 for the month.

Cyclocross season is coming so I ran a couple miles at lunch too. Running isn't my favorite activity and I only do it as conditioning for and during cross season.

This ride from Thursday puts me at 90 miles for the month https://www.strava.com/activities/651277562 Much different environment with more traffic, and much different weather... spent the week on the Oregon Coast (Cannon Beach), and I live in the Oregon Desert.

Finally brought out the new, used/rebuilt CF Trek road bike. Nice 50 mile ride about 10 minutes faster than when I use the aluminum Cannondale, which is set up for commuting: wider tires, heavier rims, splash guard, lights, bags, etc. I figure the stripped down Trek weighs at least 5 pounds less, plus I run it with thinner tires on racing rims. Woo hoo!

So, 350 mtd. It will be a struggle to hit 1000 KM before the end of next weekend. 300 more miles needed, roughly.

Very hot today and of course I didn't roll out of the house until nearly noon. 20 miles out on the full squish mountain bike today. Climb out from my favorite playground (confluence of two forks of the American River) was torture. Got baked by the hot sun. Refilled water at the top and was good to go for the rest of the way home.

MTD 576 miles.

July 2-8.8 miles (fat bike single track)
July 6-12.8 miles (hot and sticky road bikes)
July 10-42.7 miles (post storm, humid)
July 12-10.6 miles (solo)
July 15- 10 miles
July 23- 12.8
Total: 97.7 miles

I'm going to be a bit short this month. Couple more rides in this month and that will be it, unless I can hit 100 miles, but I'd still be short. I need to motivate.
