Crank brothers Speedier lever. Works when I want it to, saves tubes, makes me look like I know what I'm doing. Efficient, productive, ego, all in one package for 7.99

I have no cool cycling items. I still use an old Edge800, probably the closest thing to cool i have, and frankly its way overkill for me. only reason i have it was because Garmin had that huge rebate thing going on when the 510/810 came out.

Iknow what you mean. I've got a combo of GP 4000s and DA C24 that are a real nightmare.
I started using this, during office hours, instead of trying to carry the VAR or a bead jack.

I just upgraded bike computer from my Garmin 305 that I've been using for 9 yrs to the 502 + Varia radar. Very nice improvement. The whole package was a breeze to install and everything works great 1st time to now. This was my reward to myself for finally dropping my 25 lb. gut anchor this last winter.

The coolest cycling item that I own really isn't an item, but a memory of an item. When I was a youngster in the 60s I had a Schwinn Stingray. That was the coolest bike that I have ever owned, and while the bike itself is long gone, I still have the memories.

Are you guys who think tire levers and bead jacks are cool using wire bead tires or something?
Not trying to challenge here and am asking out of ignorance...
Some brands and models have been more challenging than others but I've never been unable to put a tire on a rim by hand and so I really don't understand.

I've always sold off all of my coolest items. I keep what's left. It lowers the cost of ownership, I think...

Is replacing a tire without a lever some sort of proof of manhood or something? I'd rather just carry a couple levers. Why make life more difficult than it has to be?

To be clear, I said in my post that I have never been unable to put a tire onto a rim by hand. I said nothing about taking tires off.
Your basic premise is correct however, that it is easier with levers. I just didn't understand what makes a lever or bead jack cool, that's all.
Its not a big deal. Just a simple question, that's all.
