actually, come to think of it, with your 150 wins, this would be the most appropriate

although one has to wonder just who in GM thought it would be a good idea to make an ultra niche luxury sport wagon

This Maserati Levante caught my eye. I built one up loaded that I would buy and it came in under $90k which is still a lot of money but less than the Tesla and no range anxiety.

To get this in the Porsche Cayenne one would have to go to the GTS or turbo which is going to price out well over $100k.

Not awful looking for an SUV and definitely more distinctive than an overfed Prius in the form of a Tesla X body.

Maseratis are perhaps the most graceful of cars. Never will be able to afford one, but there's something about the understated elegance of the quattroporte, although Prime Minister Urquhart may disagree

I suspect that originated as a Holden Commodore station wagon out of Australia, with a restyled front and in fact is imported from Australia. I rather like the look of them in that blue. Unfortunately, they will become rare -- Holden is ceasing production of all vehicles in Australia. Parent company General Motors made that decision some time ago.

When I lived in LA, I would attend the LA Auto Show. It is a wonderful venue to check out cars and compare style and features. Generally, the Italian car design was superb. Over the years, Maserati has changed it image and price point from a limited production vehicle to mass produced luxury category.

I saw an add for a new Alfa Romeo called "The Stelvio". Seriously, what bike racer in their right mind doesn't want a car called "The Stelvio". Best. Car. Name. Ever.

Do others have strangers ask them if they look like celebrities?

I constantly get told that I look like Kevin Spacey from House of Cards. And at a party last weekend, the female bartender said I looked like Bill Clinton. I told her all old guys looked alike. She said no, you are much more distinguished.

At Starbuck's today the barista says, you look like that guy from House of Cards. The woman in line behind me jumps in and says more like a better looking younger brother.

I do not see the Clinton resemblance but the Spacey - okay. At least, no Trump comments yet.

I took my Porsche in for service and part of the deal is a fleet rental. They were out of Porsches for rental. I told the guy, hey, I need a fast car. In my youth, a 396 Camaro would have been a win. Today, a 396 Camaro would still be a win but this one is okay but not fast enough.

A friend (and Master's racer) has a cherry Chevelle SS 454. I suspect that might've been fast enough, at least in a straight line.

Has anyone done the National Senior Games? I'm qualified to race there, and it's in driving distance (Birmingham, AL). What's the ambiance like? How about the level of competition? I'm guessing it's not as high as the Master's Nationals.

Prime Rib

Did a test w/ a new technique cooking technology, Sous Vide w/ a Hi-temp finish today for the requested Holiday meal.
Sous Vide is a tech/technique where the item to be cooked is vacumn sealed w/ whatever seaoning is required and immersed in a water bath at a precisely controlled temperature for a specifed lenght of time. The item(s) cannot be over/under done if set-up correctly.
A quick browing before serving provides an attractive item w/ tasty bits on the exterior and a wonderful kitchen smell.

Nailed it, perfectly cooked to a pink med-rare w/ a delicious maillard reaction crust.
Way easier and less perilous to ruining an expensive cut of beast in an oven the whole time.

Almost as nice, going out on the winter/wet bike for a while knowing that the prime rib was being perfectly held at exactly 134F until my return even if I dawdled, had a flat or added miles.

I'll be sick of prime rib by the time of the gathering, but confident that the meal will be excellent for everyone who comes to my home on Sunday.
If not, just feed them wine as Juila would advise and serve what you have w/ a smile....

Prime rib is mostly a vehicle that allows the consumption of massive amounts of horse radish.

I love horse radish
