What to do with a LeTour?

What to do with a LeTour?
I'm pretty sure it's a Chicago LeTour IV. 25" lugged 1020 stamped dropouts that I pulled out of the garbage some time ago.
I posted it in the dumpster thread. I've finally got it down out of the attic and I'm kinda wrapping up what I want to do with the 11.8 so I need to mess this something else! I don't want to do anything with the superiors yet.
What would you guys do? I'm in it nothing. I'm thinking of the dreaded 'fixie' as I don't have one.
I'll have better pics tomorrow. Here it's behind the 11.8 fresh out of the attic

Man, that's pretty. Great for touring or commuting. I love the laid back angles, looks like it would be great for long distances just moving along the road. Not much good for racing but it's not always about racing, is it? If I were you I'd put whatever is required into getting that girl on the highway! Some 25mm tires, head and tail lights, panniers........should be great for that weekend trip!

Well, if you're fixie-curious, I say go for it. Everyone should swing that way at least once before they die. You've got that lovely chrome babe for the more serious restoration project, so have a little lighthearted fun with the plain jane LeTour.
The color of your LeTour takes me back a few years to the Ross Super grand Tour Professional that I fixified and got rid of ASAP (terrible bike). That was also labeled 1020 Steel, but since I've owned one myself, I'm sure your LeTour is a better frame than the dead-weight punishment device Ross.

how can a bike labeled Super Gran Tour Professional be bad?
that aside: you could spend 76$ and go ride 76 km and maybe win a box (which might have random parts in it).

Looks like a great around-town bike to me. I had a '78 Giant-built Traveler that I built up as my fixed-gear city-bike for a couple years until I moved the nice wheels over to my Carlton, eventually giving the spare frame away when I moved to Europe. I thought that it was pretty well suited to what I was subjecting it to. And how nice that your example has a good seatpost and a nice rear rack?!

If this was a week ago, before I had already sourced one, I'd have said yes. They're nice saddles, for my bottom at least. Keep me in mind if it is destined for the trash bin, otherwise give it a shot on whatever you do with the frame!
I have no idea how the various years Le Tours geometries compare, but mine is a very nice riding bike, a 1978 by Panasonic. Not high end, by any means, but nice riding.

Yes. Saddles are very subjective, but the Avocet Touring seem to be popular. I'm good on most saddles, out of a dozen or so (mostly OEM) I've tried only one or two has been so bad I didn't want to use it, but the Avocet Touring is the only one of the bunch that I have actively sought out to buy another of.

Wow... I should clean it up and try it out I suppose. Worth more than the frame!
