just rode up it from mission valley to kensington. not too steep but I wouldn't wanta hafta ride a beach cruiser up it. similar interface on the north end of it to the north end of the rose canyon bike path near ucsd. gotta watch the freeway off ramp cars when you're entering/exiting the north end/mission valley end.

^camino del rio to the north in mission valley and adams ave to the south on the edge of kensington.
rode past it yesterday and it was closed on both ends. rode it today from mission valley up the hill.
there were about 10 workers on it w/2 trucks and a decent size shovel/excavator doing some touchup
landscaping. the "closed" signs were moved aside at the bottom (north end) but in place at the top end.
so i guess it's not officially open but looks like it will be any day. guess a few of us have been treated to
a soft opening...

it's kinda circuitous to get to/from it from/to the murphy canyon bike path.
you still hafta incorporate the fairmont area to the east or the mission city
parkway connector over the 8 fwy between camino del rio's north & south.
fairmont way is a little quicker but 3-4x the traffic. both ways involve freeway
onramp/offramp interfaces. for all the badmouthing texas st gets, at least it is
direct and crosses over the entire valley, accessing every major east/west road
in the valley. for those that are more traffic averse, at least the new path deposits
you either on the quietest east/west road in mission valley or on the 25 mph
adams ave which sees a lot of cycling traffic and has good sightlines plus plenty
of restaurants/bars/shopping/services.

Yeah, I figured as much. I forgot the freeway is ground level there when I posted and then did some recon and came to the same conclusion. Nevertheless, it's great they put that path there

dunno. wasn't cheap tho. think i woulda preferred an actual protective curb like we have alongside friars from the usd area to fashion valley mall in mission valley gracing several main arteries
(such as nimitz between rosecrans & west point loma blvd or along morena from balboa to napa st or along harbor dr anywhere) in the city.

The most useless lane installation lately is on Balboa through Tecolote canyon. Are there many of those spring loaded barrier poles still standing? lol
