Searching for someone
I have a rather strange request. I am trying to make contact with a touring cyclist I met via this forum. Unfortunately, over the years I lost touch with him. I remember his name was Neil and he was an American. He had toured extensively, and he sent me tour ideas. Among others, he mentioned Laos and Iran as being his favourite countries.
It would be great to re-establish contact.

Spearmin, if you met someone through this website many years ago, your current forum name indicates that you only joined last month. It would be helpful if you mention your previous forum name, as well as give some information about yourself. Whoever Neil is, he may very well have been in contact with quite a few people on this website.

Good point. As I said it was a long time ago, but I think my previous forum name was Worcester.
I live in Finland, and my first name is Peter.
The last time I heard from Neil (was it Neil?) he sent me a route guide to the Loire Valley in France.
I'm sorry, but I just don't remember much more other than he raved about cycling Laos and Iran.
I leave for Laos in November.

I would recommend then going to the site, crazy guy on a bike, cgoab, and searching for Laos bicycle trip journals. This is a site where people make trip journals/trip blogs of their bicycle trips with photos and writing, discussing their trip in a day by day account.
This should help you get some good info about bicycle touring there from actual bike tourers.
Its a great resource website.
good luck.
