I don't think it's extremely rare or limited edition and Amazon still has one left in stock. There is a newer version being sold now. At least they weren't lying about the msrp. Oh, and the fork of course...

EXTREMELY RARE BROWN FORGE COCO BICYCLE BIKE - $300

-CLEARANCE SALE! NEEDS TO GO! WAS $350, NOW ONLY $300!
-EXTREMELY RARE limited edition release bike from years ago!
-NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION! NO LONGER SOLD IN STORES OR ONLINE!
-I received this bike as a gift many years ago. I don't believe this bike was ever even used. It's in pristine, immaculate, excellent condition. Everything functions properly as it should. Adult owned and well cared for. Kept protected from the elements all these years in our storage shed. I am not knowledgeable when it comes to bikes in general, so unfortunately I may not be able to answer specific questions about it.
-MORE PHOTOS COMING SOON!

This ad has been up for several months now on CL. The seller began at $375 as I recall, and has been slowly reducing the price over time. The seller has an antique business, so I can assume he/she must know that merchandise you can't move you own. It appears to be in good shape and complete, but I think it's about a $100 dollar bike in these parts

Ok, so seller is a little off on the Eroica thing, but that is a sexy bike

Looks like Nervex Pro. Probably close on the price range.

You should post this in the "For love of English 3-speeds..." thread. I'll bet someone over there would like to find this one. It appears to be in near-showroom shape judging by the inadequate photo, it's a 23" men's frame, it's an uncommon color and it has the Brooks B72. I'd want it for about half the $275 price, but still...

I was looking for some general bike lube chain oil on the cheap and found this. At first not so wacky till you get to shipping pick up only on a 4 oz bottle of oil that can be shipped 1st class for $2.

Surprisingly, there is no contact info. Probably removed due to the throngs of people wanting to buy "this bike".

Hmmm... Too bad, it looks like it was a nice frame once upon a time. It's right here in Evanston, so if it floats your boat, I suppose I could check it out...

"FRAME TOP TUBE AND DOWN TUBE CREASED"

A bit of an understatement, I'd say.

He has it on Ebay for $150 BIN. Gee, for a few hundred in tube replacement and a few more for a repaint, you can have a vintage Mercian for only a few hundred more than an undamaged frame.

Ouch!

I wonder if the PO had any front teeth left. Whatever he hit, he hit HARD. Still, this would be a frame worth fixing.

Him: Honey, could you come out here and hold my bike while I take a picture?
Her: I'm busy!
Him: It'll just take a second.
Her: Okay, now make sure I don't show up in the photo.

1933 Schwinn new world - $300

I see this pop up every now and then. It's the description that gets me..

"Beautiful bike all original parts25 " rims this bike was re painted over ten years ago rust free solid wthtire n peddles she ready for the road again. Trust me this is a very rare bike n beautifully re done forced to sale fast have others all very old thanks"

How many lies can you spot?
  1. Beautiful (subjective, so I can let that slide)
  2. All original parts
  3. Re-painted over 10 years ago
  4. beautifully re done

Wow, that is UGLY!!! Remind me not to do that to a vintage classic

I am a bit surprised that it is that old, but it may well be from the 1930's. I guess Schwinn wasn't all that quick in changing their designs. Filet Brazed?

No doubt. Too much exposure starts to evoke misanthropist tendencies so I only check in occasionally to see if things are getting worse. Of course, entropy increases so...
