^A build like that is on the list for sure, very nice.
This one's in season - it's a blast. I've got a 1cm longer stem that I think'll improve the fit, need to find some longer toe clips for the same reason.

'64 Legnano, had since new (both me and the bike) as a junior racer. Mostly original, except clincher rims, and crank change from 53/45 to 52/42, more friendly on the old legs.
Then ... and now.

Nice rides on this thread. I recently finished building my first Italian with my 1987-ish Olmo San Remo. Columbus Cromor tubing, full Superbe group and Wolber TX Profil hoops. Comes in at a spritely 21.7lbs.
I've read so-so opinions on Cromor tubing but so far I am extremely impressed with the responsiveness of the Olmo. I doubt the Italian pedigree has any true benefit but there is a certain "liveliness" to this bike that makes me wonder. Looking forward to many more miles in the saddle.

^Beauty!
New and improved!
The fit is much more comfortable with the longer stem and the LL toeclips place my feet in a much better position on the pedals...so happy with it that I've quoted myself and posted the bike twice on the same page...

I love every bike on this page but I must admit to always being drawn to a Colnago with the 'Saronni' inspired paint scheme like Sir Name's beauty.

Hey, thanks GF and gmg, appreciated. This bike's in it for the long haul.
Too many bikes here to comment on, they're all special.
...I want a Frejus.

Hi Mikier. That is a nice looking bike. I do like blue of one sort or another on a cycle frame and especially with Chrome, the angle of the head-tube/forks looks quite shallow.
Was the frame built specifically for comfort without the steep angles ?
What size frame is it from centre bottom bracket to top of seat tube ?
I have just reduced a 52cm Benotto back to a frame having built both a 50cm Bianchi Via Nirone 7 Alu Carbon and a 50cm Steve Goff (a local builder) - both in Blue and with Chromed forks.

Thread's been asleep for awhile so please allow me to wake it up.
Just finished refurbishing this 1972 Bottecchia Professional. The previous owner had used a 27.0 NR seatpost for some reason, I had to do some work on the clamp area to fix the resulting distortion and use the correct 27.2 NR seatpost. Replaced the Avocet saddle it had with a Gyes and Weinmann brake levers with Universals.
It was a fun project and worth the effort. Rides great.

I sadly gave up my Italian;a 52cm Benotto Modelo 850 that I had rescued from going to the Baked Bean tin-can factory in Wigan,Lancashire.
I spent a great deal of money on it including a brand new pair of Benotto Pantograph forks and a complete shot blasted and new Stove Enamelled finish.
The completed bike was only ridden just under 300 miles but I sadly found it to be just out of my comfort zone.
I had it finally running on Campagnolo 8spd Mirage plus a triple Stronglight/140mm Thorn cranks.

Don't get me wrong, I love me the PX-10's, but this looks what they should have grown up to be.
So classically stunning.

Hi PFB. Now that is a nice looking bike with clean crisp lines. Is that a Milremo HP pump that I see on the seat tube ?

Thank you sir. And funny you should make the PX-10 comparison, I picked up a '72 blue PX-10 a week after I found the Bottecchia. Beautiful and almost flawless, it had hung from the original owner's den wall for what had to have been decades judging by the thick layer of dust. I've had stupid good luck on these things lately..

Thank you, that's a Silca Impero pump. I didn't know Milremo ever made one - interesting. Nice Benotto, and I empathize on the fitting issue. I've recently had to find new homes for a couple that I liked but were not quite right for me. Crazy how easily I bond to these things, it can be hard to let go...
I had one on my 19.5" 1937 Hetchins Curly(Vibrant Triangle)track bike that was later converted to be a road going bike with widened rear stays and Campagnolo drop-outs by the late Norman Roberts of Walvale Cycles,Liverpool and fitted with a 5spd Regina block and double Stronglight chainrings plus TA cranks.
I used to ride Sprints and Tubs back in the early/middle 1960's. The Milremo HP pump would just snugly fit between the BB and the underside of the top-tube.
Notice the Marcel Berthet Lyotard Platform Peddles in the images - I still have and ride those very same pedals today on my Steve Goff plus I have an additional two pairs.
One pair are on my Bianchi Via Nirone 7 Alu Carbon Flat Bar Hybrid.

A few weeks ago I was smitten by the pictures of this Bertoni in the C&V sales thread. It came to me as a frame and fork with a few extra panto pieces thrown in. The original look was so attractive that I tried to stay true to it. I had a bunch of miscellaneous Campy components in my stash, so very few needed to be purchased. I saved the old Almarc bar wrap, as it's quite fragile, and substituted some Velobitz instead. (If I re-do it I'll use black thread.) It fits me well and the ride is super-smooth! Great example of Italian craftsmanship and beauty

Tx, I did see that before, of course did not remember, nice job.
Like I said, always have/do love me some PX-10.
Have a PR-10 placeholder that is languishing currently along with way to many others and will be built up very updated PX-10ish.
