If I recall correctly we aim to depart around 10AM. But I might be mis-underremembering. Anyone want to verify?

We counted and it came to six, Carol Tom, Spiker, myself, Dave, and Mark:
Mark's PX10:
Two Peugoets, My PFN10 and Mark's PX10:
Our destination, the Atlantic Ocean:
A total of 46.17 miles and a few raindrops. Okay, more than a few. We still had a great ride.

I had to put on my sunglasses somewhere near Providence on the drive home. Go figure! It was a great ride, we all got soaked. I went across the street to Dunkin Donuts after the ride to change into dry clothes. One thing I forgot to bring was dry shoes and socks, drove home barefoot.

My apologies for bailing, but I was light on snivel gear and I embraced the suck and rode straight back to Dennis.

Next year, will it be the N+1th ride or the Nth+1 ride?

Well done all, rides are challenging enough to wrangle, especially as crappy weather sets in. Looks like a good time was had.

Here are my GPS tracks of our ride.
It started out with light rain falling, and we figured it would end eventually. What's the worst that could happen? We could always turn around if the rain became heavy. Well, the worst would be that it got heavy at the turnaround point. And that's exactly what happened. We made the most of it, trying not to complain. And it wasn't cold, so it really could have been worse. We sure got dirty and wet, though. Top and spiker got to the parking lot before we did, and they were gone by the time we got there. I don't blame them. We all disbanded as quickly as possible so we could change our clothes and get comfortable.
But we did enjoy the ride. It was flat and windless and easy. And it was scenic. I love Cape Cod and hadn't been there since 2001. I barely got to see any of it, so I'd like to go back soon.
We spent Friday night at an airbnb home in Brewster, arriving late at night and leaving early. We drove Saturday afternoon and evening driving to Becket, MA and stayed in another airbnb home. Becket is in the Berkshires, another place I love. Sunday morning, we drove to our weekend place in High Falls, NY. All that driving was scenic but pretty darned long. It was a lot of driving just to take a bike ride, but I'm not complaining.
Sunday at noon, we got to take down the sukkah our nascent Jewish community built in New Paltz, in a very scenic spot, among lots of people we love. Carol drove to a candidates' debate, and I rode my bike back to the house, climbing the ridge. It was a 6 mile ride with 900 feet of climbing. I climbed at 6 mph and set a personal record for that climb. I now rank 64th on ridewithgps. My max speed on the descent was 41 mph, which is always fun. Here are those GPS tracks.

I missed seeing everybody ... it's been awhile since I've done the ride. The good news is I'm done shooting my bike book. Next spring for sure!!

Heh. Carol and I are up for adventure all the time. Sometimes we wear ourselves out, but it's all in good fun.
Today I didn't even ride to work, and as usual, I regret it. The weather looked pretty ominous (heavy clouds and strong wind gusts), but it turned out not to be that bad. Well, a rest day isn't a bad idea, and I did some weight lifting before leaving for work.

oh, so you also drove back home (South) Sunday night! brutal. our family has a general rule of thumb (for the NY members) regarding trips to the Cape, there's an unofficial 3 night minimum. for me, I can go out for the day, but it's a long day. I prefer to stay overnight when I meet the NY'ers out there

Nope. Carol stayed at the house for another night. She drove me to the bus depot, and I rode the bus back to the city. Traffic was so good, it arrived ten minutes early. I took Citi Bike home, about 1.5 miles. I got one of the new bikes with the continuously variable ratio, which is fun.

If you've subscribed to this thread you'll get this! As most of you know I've missed quite a few CCRT rides over the past year or two, for various reasons. The main reason was my involvement in the Rizzoli book "Japanese Steel". Well the good news is the photography has been finished up and it's in the stages of printing etc. Its already up on Amazon for a preorder and is being released on April 10th:
https://www.amazon.com/Japanese-Stee...japanese+steel
I didn't get to do much cycling this year so I'm looking for to seeing everyone next April 14th. Also, if you're on Instagram I've set up a account just for cycling related images. At some point they'll be previews for the book. IG: ScottRydercycling
ok, see everyone in April. Unless the book "British Steel" gets moving.
Cheers,
Scott
