Classic silver bar tape.
I have been watching classic bike movie American Flyers with Kevin Costner and saw the classic silver bar tape on one of his bikes. I'm wondering if anyone knows a source for this tape or something similar? I think it would go great with one of my bikes and be reasonably priced style statement.

The tape on that Allez imaged earlier in this thread is not Benotto, that one is someone's silver finished padded tape, Zoom the image and you should see some perfs to one side.

Tape on the carbon Allez in post #2 looks like old silver metallic Bike Ribbon. I had that once back in the 80s.
I haven't seen the film, but I looked at some screenshots. The tape is clearly white Benotto Cello tape. It's iridescent white, not silver. Very common at that time.

Soma has cello-tape ( https://store.somafab.com/behata1.html ), and actual silver tape ( https://store.somafab.com/mebarta.html ).

The re-issue tape that SOMA sells doesn't look the same to me. Anyone try it? The old cello tape was pearlescent celluloid, and that was the whole point. It was like a tape version of Mother of Toilet Seat (fake mother of pearl). If there's no pearly shine it's just cheap plastic tape.
