Surly Cross-Check? - What's it Worth
Picked up this Surly with a few other bikes recently and don't know much about it. Not even 100% sure what model it is, but based on my searches I'm thinking a Cross-Check? Whoever had it last changed out the wheels and ended up using a rear rim that's got a disc (used what he had, I'm assuming) and put a nice seat on it.
It's cleaned and and looking good. I took it out for a test ride and this thing is solid! Love the way it rides! I would like to see what you guys think it would go for. Also wouldn't mind confirming the model. Local bike shop guy wasn't sure, but said these bikes have a cult like following. haha

Kit doesn't match
I don't think cross checks had disc brakes, as this one does on the rear, but not front -- huh. I suspect it started life as a Straggler that somehow lost it's original fork, bars, and front wheel.

There should be a serial number under the BB. Write it down. Call Surly.

With a mighty wind
It doesn't have disc brakes, front or back. It has a rear disc rim but has a canti brake. Definitely a hodge podge of parts.
$200 to $300 would be my guess.

$200-350 depending on cosmetic condition. If everything matched and was in good condition- $350-500.

Thats definitely a cross check. I don't understand the build at all but I know its a CC. Considering they go new between $800 and $1200, I'd say you would get less than $800 for that one.

I would replace that rear wheel immediately. Usually disc brake rear wheels do not have an adequate braking surface for rim brakes. That bike is a hodge podge of parts. Personally, I would have passed on it.

As far as the bike is concerned I would echo replacing the rear wheel with one made for rim brakes.
