Was even thinking weed, now that I guess it's legal here, but I'm not sure I want them stoned while working on my bike!

Coffee is a good idea; cash is probably even better but seems to literal, plus harder to split.

I'm going with cream puffs: World's Best Cream Puffs | Beard Papa

Those things are crazy-good. I just hope they wash their hands before touching my beautiful bike!

So the interview went pretty good on Monday..

Got there about half an hour early. Weather was awful in the morning so I thought the roads were going to be terrible...they werent.

He was available when I got there so we started early, at 11. Interview gets to about 12:30 and he suggest we go get lunch and finish the interview after. OK. Go get lunch, and the interview is basically still going on..which im fine with. After the food was brought to the table he made me offer, which I accepted.

I started today as the Accounting Manager.

Now that I have a job again, and a source of income, after 4 months of nothing (was denied unemployment in september) it feels like I can start to breath again..and not have to worry about selling everything and moving back in with my parents.

Nice - after the lunch invite it was a done deal unless you were rude to the waiter or something stupid.

Congrats @Wylde06! Just hope the interviewer was cool enough to buy your lunch for you

On the topic of work, I'm in a bit of an odd place right now. We're conducting some tests that require quite a bit of overtime to get done (Friday / Saturday/ sometimes sunday which we usually have off), but most of this time is just spent waiting. We have to wait for the proper conditions to be in place before we actually wait. I welcome the bigger paycheck I'll be getting for the next few weeks, but my time is more valuable. I guess I'll just buck up and deal with it, even if i'd rather be skiing.

This better not get in the way of my training

Awesome news. Congrats. Glad you're not working on a steel mill after all, as cool as that would probably be for the first week. That's a rough job.

Last Saturday the high was 27. Wednesday and yesterday the high was 65 and 68 and I rode outside in shorts. Today the high is 28 and all schools, government offices, and seemingly every flight into Nashville has been cancelled for an ice/snow apocalypse.

This weather is dysfunctional.

Congrats on the new job!

I was denied unemployment back in the 80s and I appealed it and they gave it to me after 3 months. I just had to go before an arbitrator and explain my situation.

We had close to a blizzard last week, temperatures were lows around 0 and highs in the mid teens. Today it's pouring rain and almost 65. It's very strange indeed.

Why do automated call systems make fake typing sounds after you give a response? It's not like anyone thinks its a real person taking the info and typing it in.

Someone probably falls for it. Or maybe they just do it to fill the dead air while the computer is searching or whatever, because dead air makes people nervous?

I do like feedback. Something.
I prefer the voice systems that beep before you should speak and beep/something after you do.
