Tall Cyclists - another post your ride here thread
#151
This is kind of interesting. I'm an even 6'-0", and the bikes ridden by folks who are about four inches shorter look virtually interchangeable with mine. But some of the bikes ridden by guys just four inches taller than me look completely different.

A few of my bikes...
63cm '87 Miyata 912 road bike updated with 600tricolor drivetrain and 9sp Ultegra STI
63.5 '87 Schwinn Prelude road bike with white SportLX components
65cm Black Mountain Cycles V4 gravel road bike
64cm '90 Fuji made private label touring road bike
This winter I am going to build a road frame(local class) and get the geometry perfect(it better be!). Im guessing itll be 64cm with a slightly sloping top tube to give 64cm stack too.

This is my mid 90's Merckx. As I've gotten older I'm working on stem height and extension as you can see in the picture on the right.

Its a Nitto Dynamic II. 26.0mm clamp, 0 degree angle, 120mm extension.
Because its 0 degree instead of the typical -17, the 120mm is effectively has the positioning of a -17 100mm long stem that needs to be set 4cm higher up.
Love the stem, but the entire world is out of them right now(i want another).
If you have a 25.4mm handlebar though, I do have one in a package for sale! https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...0mm-reach.html

6’6” (2m), 37” inseam. All of my bikes have 200mm cranks. Since the photo on the Black Mountain was taken, I have raised the saddle 2cm and lengthened the stem 2cm.
I built the wheels for all my bikes except the Trek. This has been the only way to get ones that last.
Black Mountain Monstercross, 64cm, 700c x 44mm, 12cm stem (now 14cm), 200mm cranks
Fitz Cycles, full custom, 650b x 42mm, 10cm stem (now 11cm), 200mm cranks
Trek Superfly AL, 24”, 29r, 135mm stem, 200mm cranks

I am only 6 feet tall but my 38 inch cycling inseam makes me eligible (I think).
That's a Habanero with custom geometry, 64 cm C-T. They should have actually made it 65cm but that would make the head tube longer and limit fork choices.
I also have a custom Steel Alpine from the 1980's that I will try to post later. And a stock Specialized Roubaix, 58cm, with steatpost to the min. insert line.
