Carbon Fiber Frame Repair
Hi all,
Need some help with finding a place to get a frame repaired. I have Giant TCR Advanced SL. I was riding in the rain a few weeks ago and my bike got dirty. I finally got around to cleaning on Saturday to discover some damage on the chain stay. It looks like the chainring bolt behind the crank arm got loose. And as I was pedalling I drove the bolt into frame. I've looked online and I see some options, but do you guys have any shop or person you would recommend?

Shoot a PM to Oldnslw2. He posted on the Northeast section a few weeks ago about getting his Madone fixed, same area on the frame.

Now that I think about it, I heard a noise while riding. I stopped and had a quick look but didn't notice it at the time.

+1 Ruckus,
But that's a good candidate for DIY- low visibility, localized damage.
Kit on Amazon is ~$40, & you only need to remove the crankset, vs stripping the frame bare, packing & shipping for repair, & reassembling.

I'm a real DIY guy, and I've even had a job working with carbon, but I'd be leaving this to the experts.
I'm sure I could do an okay job, but I'd hope anyone with a good reputation would do a great job.

Will add, owners sharing their experience getting their carbon frames fixed or even attempting repair themselves as Woodcraft suggested is what makes this forum so invaluable. Collective knowledge and experiences shared.

Go to the 34 forum area, road race. I have a topic on there where I repaired a free TT frameset I was given.
Same area. Did the repair myself and took quite a few photos.
I had spare repair fiber/resin from another job so didn’t technically cost me anything.
