Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My spouse believes that sauerkraut is essential on New Year’s Day. Ours will be exhibited in a nice gulyás.

Bicycling planned today with the hope I can get a decent 40km ride over part of one of our Audax courses. Wind has dropped to nothing, which is a great thing.

Thanks for the good wishes for me from various guys and gals here last year. They have meant much to me in the recovery process. Machka continues to reveal some of the stuff that went on while I was way off in La-La-Land (actually almost dead) and suffering post-traumatic amnesia for over five weeks, and then around nine-months (and ongoing) of recovery to body and brain..

Have great year, everyone.
I'm happy to see you and Machka usher in 2019, Rowan. Happy New Year to you two, and I look forward to your continued progress.

"It doesn't look like the possibility of the Huskies coming back in this game is very likely". Well, no. I mean, they are down by 25 points now and it's the third quarter.

Goulash.

This one is chunks of pork shoulder sautéed with onion and a little garlic, seasoned with paprika and caraway seeds, braised with sauerkraut and white wine, and gooped up with sour cream before serving over potatoes.
