So I'm riding home from work...
at about 2:30 AM when some ********** throws what appears to be an empty bottle of Corona out of his window at me. It was an empty street, no one else, just me. I don't say anything, don't shout, just pedal as hard as I can. Two lights later I catch up to him. I tip-tap my way toward his car, where he is unsuspectingly chatting an giggling with whom I assume was his girlfriend. I shout "hey *******, what are you, some kinda tough guy?" Corny, but the first words that came to mind. I open his car door, grab him by his collar and pull him toward me, then punch him twice in the mouth. Rather than assume the beating, I clip in and ride away.
I'm not at all a violent guy, but I was raised not to take **** from anybody. At first I felt guilty for what I'd done, but that wore off rather quickly. Was I wrong in reacting the way I did? Have any of you had violent encounters? Also... what are your fav. messenger bags?

Actually he was in the psgr side. And to answer your question, no, but I still harbor dreams of being part of the Delta Force.

Yes, you were in the wrong. I understand the desire to get even, but at the point you battered him, he was not a danger to you. Yelling at him would have been no issue, but physically touching him was wrong.

^^^ Did you ever get hit with a bottle or anything thrown from a car ?
The asshat made a decision to do something that could have
affected the OP adversly for the rest of his life. I wont comment further except
to say I think its great there will be one less A**h*** having this type
of 'fun' at someone elses expense.

As for what Sentinel wrote, it sounds right in principle, but then I try to picture myself sitting in a car and slinging a GLASS bottle at some guy on a bike for no reason. I would never have the audacity to...suffice to say, the more I think about it, the more he had it comin'.

I think he'll always remember that time when some guy one a bike beat his a$$ when he threw a bottle out the window... he'll NEVER do it again ... or at least if he does, he'll look 3 times each way first !!!!!

I'm on OP's side. Things like flying bottles coupled with the speed of the car it was thrown from make for potential handicappers. I wouldn't have stopped at two punches, by I respect the restraint that was shown.

But yeah those are never good in the hand.
And FWIW I think a couple swift ones in the face were well in order.

haha intense. i probably would have just pulled him out of the car and grabbed him and yelled in his face "IT IS NOT OK TO THROW BOTTLES AT PEOPLE!" and then rode off, but hey. whatever works for you
