Mostly correct. The SUV ones are sometimes snippy, but they're all pissed because they need a transmission.

I saw the Saturn version of the Slowstice on the road the other day, don't see many of those.

Soulless Plastic update:
Rode the R3, including a moderate hill I, which ride every day on my commute, so I know what it takes to go up it. The bike fits right down to the stem length and the seat-bars drop, which looks moderately large, actually feels about like my cx bike and I think I could even go down a cm. There was a qualitative difference in how easy it make that climb relative to my old road bike, but I noticed nothing on the flats, except that it's much more comfortable than I expected.
How a virtually new bike ended up in the seller's hands turns out to be complicated, but involves a third party finding the woman for whom said party had intended it in flagrante delicto. How it ended up with a Hed Ardennes wheelset is a complete mystery.
I think I'm going to pull the trigger.

On this recommendation, I might find myself checking one out someday. But it's decidedly above my pay grade. And there is the fact that I've sworn off buying any more bikes. Perhaps I could rent one.

Shucks, you had me all ready to rationalize, self-justify, and pretend I hadn't asked for advice. I'm great at that.

I actually went for a walk today and found my spoke.... and it turns out that it *did* break, leaving only two turns worth of threading, so I will have to order one. That or just chuck a round straight-pull in there.
Now that I think about it, these wheels should have a lifetime warranty on them, so maybe I'll reach out to Reynolds and see if they can mail out a spoke. edit: done - warranty claim message sent.

Nooooo - how would that even work? A nipple on both ends?

Oh, your straight pulls have a bead at the hub end. I thought they maybe threaded into the hub. That is not unknown. Is there room inside the hub for just a piece of a nipple you could thread onto the spoke in place of a bead?

Clearly you need and extra wheel set, barring an extra bike, of course. That is how my second bike came about.

Did it. Got the bike, a pair of hardly used, top of the line, Garneau shoes—big, fat wide ones!—a titanium bottle cage for the Lynskey, a pair of pedals, and assorted sundries, for 2800 hundred bucks.

I'm conflicted about reading and catching up. I've had drama all around me at work this week and I didnt realize there was drama and fighting until today. I'm totally amazed at how effing oblivious I've been, and so glad I'm not involved. Younger me would have enjoyed knowing the details, older still learning me is stressed out by all the crazy surrounding me.
I'm still processing, people dont know how lucky they are.
