Pashley Micro folder. Pannier and front rack recommendations.

I bought myself a little Pashley Micro folding bike secondhand last year.

The handlebars have little space to hang a small basket (especially with a bell, light and phone holder).

I'm looking for recommendations for a front rack and also a decent rear pannier rack which won't interfere with the fold.

The problem I'm coming across is the likes of Tern and Brompton won't seem to fit because of the placement of the bolts and fittings. The generic brand racks seem to only fit from a 20" wheel and my wheels are 16".

I know little about bikes, other than using it for the odd commute and fun little runaround but I do want to get out and about more so enabling myself to carry more luggage would be great and your help would be appreciated.

I'd also like to be able to carry my wooden crate with a cup holder on either the front or back for odd little runs into town.

Will add photos once I have 10 posts. Won't let me upload with me being new.

I use a vertical Klickfix stem adapter, the short one, max 7kg load. There is a longer one with max 5kg, and another one with a lock. You could attach it to your stem but it seems you're stem is really tilted forward at a steep angle, or attach it to the headset if there is enough room. But you have to be careful about the maximum diameter that the adapter can fit.

There is a another version with a steel band, and a replaceable band that can accommodate a larger diameter.

If you want to stick to a horizontal attachment directly on the handlebar, you could use the rail clip attachment, to get more space for lights and other stuff:

Lastly, the klickfix adapters levers can be swapped out with a key version.

I use the Tern Cargo Rack. It's fairly long, and the bags sit further rearward. The height is adjustable. But your bike seems to have a very short chainstay, so I'm not sure if it will hit the seat tube. The Tern website has a PDF drawing with dimensions. You should measure it to see if it will fit. Also, it's designed for 130-135mm dropout. I'm not sure what happens if you put it on narrow frames.

You don't seem to have eyelets on the top of the stays or seat tube. So you'll need an adapter.

There are a lot of these seatpost clamp adapters from M-wave, Sunlite, ProblemSolvers, etc

Or something called a monostay adapter on ebay

Or use the Tubus seatstay adapter

Thank you so much for the recommendations and the thorough replies, tomtomtom.

Couldn't reply yesterday as I had used up my maximum 5 posts a day.

I'll let you know how I get on. Definitely going to order a handlebar extender and going to look into the Tern rack too.
