How does the "search forums" function actually work?
I mean, it does not appear to search by newest posts first. What is the algorithm it uses to search for results?
For example, I just bought a used Fuji Sagres, and wanting to find out more about Sagres, I type "sagres" in the search field (not in any particular sub-forum, but on the forum main page).
I get 10 pages of results, yet the thread I just started two days ago appears on the 10th and last page of results. How are the results ordered?
Thanks!

If one clicks on "Threads", there is a choice for "Advanced" which gives more options, including to search by "Last Posting Date". And the search works reasonably well.
I find it useful to throw my username into the searches. One can also specify searching the title.
One issue would be the Mega-Threads.
So, "Sagres" has appeared in several mega-threads... sometime. And Dirt Farmer's post still gets buried, with the mega-threads having some recent posts.
What would be useful would be a search option:
Sort by most recent post containing keyword(s)
That should throw Dirt Farmer's post up near the top.For me, the results of the search should also be thrown into "Search this Thread" (another option for searching from clicking on the bar at the top of the thread).
Thus, when one clicked on "Retro roadies- old frames with STI's or Ergos", it would take a user directly to:

(which is a 2013 post & reply).
