While we're discussing e-stuff and electronics and such and ways to spend money, I snagged a used Power2Max crank for my ICE VTX (trike). Besides eTap, with the power meter, I now probably have the most electrified trike around, barring an e-assist motor. Ain't ready for that, yet.

So I have to wonder what Big Bicycle will dream up next to pry more dollars from our pockets. Their recent innovations have included relatively easily damaged bodies (let’s not argue about this), automatic transmissions, off road enhancements, improved headlights and taillights, enhanced dashboard diagnostics, “leak-proof” tires, disc brakes, and now engines . . . . . none of which is essential to riding a bike. What’s next, air conditioning?
Sure its it’s going to be easy to call me an old fuddy-duddy, curmudgeon, or that other term I can’t think of right now. But they keep finding reasons to come up with unnecessary stuff, don’t they?

Since the Cinelli, finally, I'm content with that I have. I have bikes for all situations and almost too much tech. It still pisses me off when I go to switch bikes and my battery is dead. That's dumb.

WhyFi, I see you found out about the wahoo and ANT+ light control, but here it goes on how it works on an ANT+ light control enabled head unit (unfortunately only garmin at the moment).
on my way back from my ride this morning, I stopped at a busy road and cycled through (no pun intended) the light modes, changing them through the head unit.
First thing’s first; “radar ON - light OFF” is exactly that. No light, no flashing when cars are detected. .
For the rest of the settings, “solid”, “flashing”, the light mode changes to an S.O.S. type of flashing pattern in both light modes. “Flashing” light mode is different enough from the “car alert” mode, that the drivers would distinguish the change in mode (if they don’t have their heads buried in their phones to begin with).
i know it doesn’t help you much, but at least if the question comes up again, there’d be something to reference.
By by the way, I believe on the wahoo head units, there’s still some scaling adjustments they need to do. Right now, detected cars show up in the middle of the screen and not from the bottom of the screen as they do on the garmin units from reports of wahoo head unit users. I believe GPLama has a wahoo head unit varia setup video if you want to have a visual quick start guide.

Is AB crazy or is he crazy like a fox? There's speculation that AB's antics were calculated and that joining the Pats was the endgame. This should fuel conversation and the fires of Pats haters all season.

It's an attempt to compete and survive in a difficult and potentially dying industry. Bike shops can't stay open and now pcads are dropping $6k on an ebike instead of the top of the line climbing or aero bike. Two years ago, I would never have believed Wilier would make an ebike that looks like a Wilier race bike so pcads can drop people with assist. But I assume that bike has been in production for two years. It's the direction of the industry. Sexy Wilier with a bit of help or sexy Wilier with no help?

Same thing happened to me few years back. Charging pit bull hit the front wheel causing a cartwheel, concussion and first rib fracture. Not pleasant. On the good side though it made me realize death from head injury is likely painless if anything like this experience. Like you I just woke up completely unaware of what had occurred.

A quick survey. How many addictionites-
1) ride with electronic shifting
2) which brand and why?
3) are satisfied with that brand and would buy the same again
4) are glad they went electronic and would never consider going back.
Thanks all.

How much time out of the saddle.
