46k today. Just a light an easy spin as I didn't want to burn my legs out before the Mt. Baker Hill Climb. But looking at the weather for tomorrow, I'm not sure if I'll make the ride or not. Damn rain...

First century! 100.3 miles and 4,500' on Sat in the "Closer to Free Ride" from Yale Bowl. A huge milestone for me in my comeback from stage IV lymphoma.
Now what do I do without having that goal in front of me?

How about beating my personal best of 127.75 for your next goal?

34.5 miles today. First day on the bike in almost 2 weeks I'm ashamed to say.

101 km (sounds better in metrics) with 2500 feet of climbing (sounds better in English).
Saw horses on the beach, and a very full moon in the early morning.
A good day of riding.

racing the sun
50 miles on a mix of mups, roads (including 14 miles of chip seal), and 14 miles of mostly packed gravel.
I got a late start and only have "see me" lights and no real lights to for navigation so I was cranking pretty hard to get home before the sun completely set.
The last 7 miles I was riding directly west so while it was getting dark around me, I was still riding towards the light of the setting sun.
I managed to make it back while the sky still had a touch of orange/ red/ pink/ purple to it just above the horizon.
I'm not really sure who won - me or the sun, but I enjoyed the competition.

103k today. Was a freaking BRILLIANT day. Probably the last day of fall/summer for a while. So I made the most of it. The dilemma was road bike vs. mountain bike. The rode bike won.

47 miles on PCH, Camarillo Airport to Malibu and back. Great day to ride, lots of nice new pavement, and the dunes area has been cleaned up ... again ... for now. All the new pot fields in the flats along Las Posas Rd. are pretty amazing, with a guy in a lawn chair every so often to guard the crop. Modern farming, I guess. All in all a great day, except the front tire blowout at 30 mph on a downhill. Flats happen.
Cleaned up bike lane at the dunes.
New sea wall across from the dunes.
Another great bike day !
Approaching Sycamore Cyn.

I did about 20 miles today for my one way trip, coming back it will be about the same. I hope to not have flat tire issues, coming off the summer had a lot with the small thorns on sidewalks and streets, but it was fun changing all those flats, inner tubes, in the summer! LOL

56 miles, out, mostly climbing, back, mostly downhill. Was a bit worried, there is really a ton of debris on the roads and trails right now. Branches, pods, big seed-like things. Lotta big leaf piles. Rocks left over from the summer's paving work. But the Gator Hardshells, which I run this time of year, did awesome and no flats encountered. I would have had about twelve flats on my Vittorias. Sorry, Vittoria. No pics today-- I was sorta doing a time trial.

Getting around early on my bike too hot!
I rode about 15 miles today so far early. While it is cool going to be another hot one here. And my energy will be drawn out of me just by the heat. Bike is going well. My mountain bike. Probally will jump up to 40 to 50 miles this weekend when it cools down

Getting ready for my 20 mile back home today, may take a few side trips though I always do. Hopely safely , there are a lot bad car drivers that do not look out for a honest bike rider just trying to make his or her way down the street safe.
