De Rosa, or Pinarello?

De Rosa, or Pinarello?
Hope someone can give me an opinion on this, who has experience with both bikes. I'm deciding to buy either a Pinarello Dogma f8, Or a De Rosa Protus...some internet shops have some really good deals on these right now. The protus is actually about a grand cheaper than the Pinarello. I'm a pretty light rider and love climbing but also want something that is fast on the flats and very stable on descents. Thanks much.

I am currently experiencing De Rosa envy. I just put together a White Protos with Super Record and Topolino wheels for a friend of mine. Beautiful bike! I would definitely pick it over a Pinarello.

Pinarello is China/Taiwan. Not sure about the DeRosa. I know most of their bikes are Taiwan now. Don't know about the Protos though.
If it matters to you, you need to research properly. Just because it says Made in Italy, doesn't mean it is.
At least some models of both Time and Look are still made in France I think, as another couple of options.
I have a DeRosa Super King 888 and like it a lot.

which protos are you looking at? because most of the discounted ones right now are the older version which is beefier looking.
While the new one (2017 ver) looks a bit more of open mold design(well at least for me). anyway, i'd go with derosa because i tend to own an old derosa albeit different model. it rides great.

I've ridden the dogma and was lucky enough to test ride the protus for a day with ample descents included. I found that the de rosa was worlds more stable at speed than the dogma could hope to be. Maybe it was the psychological effect of the reverse-curving fork, but I never felt at ease on the dogma.

That's a tough choice that I'd like to have. 12 years ago I was choosing between a Pinarello and a De Rosa. I always wanted a De Rosa, but they were new to carbon at that point and didn't get a great review, nor did the Pin. I bought a Kuota instead, for less money and was plenty happy with it. I just got off that bike about a half hour ago as it is still my main ride. No regrets. If I ever buy another bike I'll look at the De Rosas again. At 62 I doubt I'm buying another all out road bike though.

Look at the Trek Emonda SLR. The 2018s have been released so there are killer deals son 2017s.
Doesn't have the cache, but it's made in the USA and climbs like there's no tomorrow.

I love De Rosa bikes but not the Protos. The massive down tube.....
My favorite frame in the market is the Idol followed closely by their Super King.

What did you decide? Or does anyone else have any opinion on F10 vs 2019 Protos

Check out R&A cycles. They have a few NOS frames on closeout. I bought a Merak and a King Limited from them a few months ago. Excellent deal if you can get the right size.
