FS. 3Rensho Frameset Project
SOLD
Another project type frame, another 3Rensho...
Picked this up here on the forum a couple of years ago. The plan was to strip, repaint and make some more modifications to the cable routing etc, spread the rear to 130mm and run a modern group. None of which ever happened.
The frame is a 3Rensho Super Record Export, in desperate need of a repaint. Seat tube measures 58cm center to center with a 57cm top tube.
Prior modifications include the internal brake cable routing through the top tube and the addition of a pump peg. The openings are reenforced and accept the included rubber grommets (from a Gios). I believe the drive side dropout may have been replaced which prompted the other modifications since the frame would require at least a partial repaint after repairs. Both dropouts are Campagnolo, so I could be wrong. Not sure who did the modifications but clearly a professional job. The transition from seat stay to dropout match the other dropout perfectly, as well as the other 3Rensho in the fleet.
Surface rust is present throughout, none of it looks more than superficial. No dents or dings that I can see.
Asking $300+shipping

That dropout sure looks cracked. Any way to confirm that?

I’m not seeing what you’re seeing. On the non drive side there’s an obvious spot where the paint is peeling, clearly lifting off the dropout. Doesn’t look like a crack to the dropout to me. And I don’t see anything on the drive side that even remotely looks like a crack.
I’ll take a close look in person later today and report back. May even strip the paint from the dropouts.

I see it middle of top of dropout cant really tell from pics if it's a scrape from wheel removal or a crack would likely need to remove some and lightly sand the spot to tell for sure.

Looks like paint cracking to me. Probably a coat(s) used as touch up. Just cleaned up a similar situation on a frame I had.

However, if the paint is peeling like such on the NDS it makes me curious about the paint. Was this 3Rensho always green?

No, as started in the original post, the internal cable routing and pump peg were additions by one of the previous owners. I also speculated that the drive side dropout may have been replaced at one time, necessitating a repaint.

For what it's worth, aesthetic condition aside, these aero 3renshos are the best bikes I've ever ridden for urban racing/cruising/commuting. They're really efficient and fast. So if you want to build up a commuter, this is the frameset IMHO. Mine below:
