70 degrees on the day after Christmas so I had to make time to enjoy some steel on a local walking, running, biking trail.

60 degrees here. I got in just shy of 14 miles. I should have taken an extra minute or two to compose the pic, but here it is.

Greetings from South Florida. Today started at 49 degrees at 7:30 ending up to low 70s before noon. Rode 53 miles to Miami Beaach and back giving me just 21 miles short of 7,500 for the year with two more ride days planned.
2020 terrible for many people in many ways. For healthy retirees became an opportunity to ride a lot, cement friendships and get out into the fresh air.
Wishing all a safe and healthy 2021.

Sorry a bit late, last ride Dec. 26, Sand Creek Trail, Co. Springs, CO.
The end of the Sand Creek Trail, just past Fountain Blvd. heading north.
Same view but heading South, to pick up a bike lane and head towards home.

35weeks ago today at 1:25AM a 150+ pound wild pig ran into me while bicycling so another April crash. Results were cracked left scapula, 2 broken ribs, punctured lung, shoulder trauma. Went out this morning at 1:25AM for 45 mile anniversary ride. Saw a little piggy close to my crash site.

Got in our first ride for 2021, although it was more a "errand run", still it had be snowy and COLD for most of last week and the the roads finally cleared enough to be safe (except for the ice patches in the shady spots!!) so we got our and put in 10 miles RT. It was 37 F when we left the apt. sunny with a slightly chilly breeze. Used Bike Lanes, back streets and urban trails, even if it's short enjoyed the ride! YouTube video:

Playing in my hilly playground this morning. The takeaway was a pedal strike to my right shin. 3 punctures from my pedal's pins. At least it matches my left shin now with regards to scars. All good with me!

Got in a ride on the 8th. as we are expecting snow and cold by Saturday afternoon here in So. CO. 13 mile RT, using trails, bike lanes and back streets around the area. It was sunny 40 F with a quite chilly breeze for the ride.

Finally got back on the bike today after not riding for a while. Sinuses have been so bad the issue lingered for so long I even got a COVID test. My legs felt decent from continuing to walk 18 holes but my lungs were toast. The heart rate would immediately surge on most hills.
But I managed a nice sunny ride from the house to High Rock Lake and the land of Lexington BBQ. It was nice to be back on the bike and think about Earl Gillon, gone way too soon one year ago.
I did see the darnedest thing along the way. A fella on a moped passed me going through Spencer. On his back was a fairly large log similar to a Boxer. It looked like the dog had his hind legs standing on the seat behind the driver. The dog’s front legs were draped across the driver’s shoulders on each side of his neck. I think the dog had on a harness and I’m thinking it was strapped around the dog and also the drivers chest. People on the sidewalk were shaking their heads in disbelief. I sure wish I’d gotten a photo.

On Sunday we got in 16 miles on a chilly but sunny So. CO. day. We rode mostly urban trails and bike lanes with a few back streets thrown in the mix! We headed up into the lower area of the North Cheyenne Canyon Park here in Co. Springs to have lunch at the Sacred Grounds Cafe. The light breeze had a bit to it but we really NEEDED a ride as it's been cold and gray for several days!! We headed back down the Canyon then over to pick up the Mesa Springs Greenway to it's end then back to the apartment via the Pikes Peak Greenway! Here is a link to the video of the ride!

Got in 17 miles on Thursday with my wife Jo, we rode over to Manitou Springs, via the Palmer Mesa Greenway and the Midland Trail. Stopped at the Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort here in Co. Springs, as my wife makes and sells crocheted items and the Lodge sales them for her. Then over to the swimming pool park for our brown bag lunch. Headed back the longer way home, picking up the Shooks Run Trail heading north up to our apartment. Sunny, chilly breeze a bit of ice still in places on the trails.

We decided to ride on Friday due to the weather report saying that there would be HIGH WINDS on Saturday, we headed north on the Pikes Peak Greenway then west on the Sinton Trail. Then turned south on the Foothills Trail that goes infront of the entry way to the Garden of the Gods Park, here in Co. Springs. At the end of the trail we picked up the 31st. St. bike lane over to Colorado Ave. bike lane to stop at a little Hot Dog cafe for a good dog!! We ate on their elevated patio area, then headed east on the Midland Trail, got on the different bike lanes thru town and then north on the Shooks Run Trail and headed home. 15 miles RT, Sunny but chilly high 30 F's.
Top of the Foothills Trail looking into the valley and the start of the Garden of the Gods Park
Our Lunch stop, sometimes you just GOT to have a Good Dog!!

Didn’t plan for today’s ride very well. 41 miles solo directly into the wind. But the reward was lunch at Stameys in Tyro. Winds were more helpful the remaining 20+ miles.
Is it summer time yet! I’m already tired of cold and windy .......
A really good pork BBQ joint
Half way through a chopped BBQ sandwich and hush puppies
Yep, it was windy
An industrial humidifier!!!
Look!!! A fossilized snowman!!
More junk food but gives me another 20 miles
