Electra Cruiser 1 Brakes (LEJOG)
Hello everyone, I have an Electra Cruiser 1 Tall, added a Minoura rack and a Drifter Plus saddle. She's looking good (tried to post an image) and all set to cycle LEJOG next month. I'd like to add some extra stopping power if things get dicey. Can anyone recommend a rear caliper brake suitable for use with a bike fitted with a coaster? Do I need to get the drill out, or is there a less invasive solution? Thank you, Kenny.

Yes, a front brake is the best solution for more stopping power. You may need a long reach caliper so check the specs before you buy. It should bolt right on, no drilling.

I'm looking to add a front brake to my Electra Cruiser 1 as well. OP, which brake set did you go with? Any AIO kits out there with the lever and cable included or should I just go ala cart as I want a good lever for my cruiser bars?

Thanks.

Thanks.
The levers in the kits aren’t as nice as ones you buy separately.

Thanks for the input,
What lever should I get for the Cruiser 1 bars? I'm eyeballing the Tektro short reach ones.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I have the kool-stop pads on my other bikes. They are great and I'll probably get a set for the cruiser too..
