Help choosing rear derailleur
Looking to replace my current sram rival rear derailleur. Road bike is 11 speed, 700c, 28/44 front chainrings, 11-40t cassette with wolf tooth road link and sram force 22 brifters. Is there a better choice? Or, newer options in rear derailleurs, rather than replace with the same one? Would appreciate any suggestions. Being that supplies are in and out of stock, would like to have alternate choices.

I see a bunch of them on eBay right now. What would be your options, anyway, going up to Red?

If it gave you good shifting, why not go with the same. If you don't know what you need to improve, then buying things you perceive as better seems pointless to me.
If your bike is new enough to be 11 speed, then what the heck did you do to it to tear up the DR. Maybe you should consider less expensive DR's if you are going to treat them as a consumable.
Smile, I don't intend for that to be taken as mean as it might sound. More that it's just worded to provoke you to give some more info that might matter.

Thanks for that gx suggestion. Taking the link out can be done easy enough. Didn’t need it for my prior 11-36t cassette, but do for the 40t.
My current derailleur has a bolt/screw thing that keeps moving out of place throwing the gearing off. Not terrible confident to replace it with the same one. May just be a fluke, but I’d like to just try another one.
Bike was built for my riding needs. Never had an issue until now.

I ended up buying a sram gx 2x10 rear derailleur and installed it with my setup. I did remove the wolf tooth link, as it was not necessary. Returned from a recent tour with lots of hills. Had plenty of opportunities to run through the gears in quick succession. Did not experience any issues. Glad to report that it is working out really well for me.

Not knowing what excact screw you talk about, but another time you might consider a threadlocker, like Locktite 243 or the similar.
