Fall Ride Photos, not photos of you falling

With the low rider front panniers, as far as I know its very dependent on the bikes geometry. He tells me with the trail of that bike along with the head tube angle, and how he has them located that they barely affect his handling and even almost smooth it out. You will see with touring bikes designed for a front load (Surly pack rat) that they have pretty steep head tube angles.
The cons of carrying weight there is that its pretty bad for chunky off road or even technical road sections, but that's not an issue here and was great for road/gravel touring.

Your picture reminds me of several YouTube Fahrradfahren videos my wife watches on her stationary trainer passing neatly stacked piles of lumber while climbing to the skigeibiete. Good stuff. ( Ich bin ein Fan von Rammstein und Eisbrecher).

I "love" Fall. The continuous raking of the leaves falling from my TEN g-d Pin Oak trees. Well, I spent yesterday herding them and binning a bunch of them, then went riding. I will post those images first. But last night about 9pm my neighbor said their bin was available. At first light (from my phone) this morning I was out there filling their bin.

Never been on that site in winter! They don't regularly clear the trail, and my narrow tires are no good on ice or snow. Plus my cold weather biking cutoff temp is somewhere between 40 - 45 degrees. Old bones don't like the cold. I have thought about hiking in to get the 4th season pix, but so far I have been successful in resisting the idea. A paper route in sub-zero temps when I was a kid seems to have turned me off on the winter sports idea.
But there are some braver souls out there. Last year I saw a couple in snowmobile suits riding fat tire bikes through the snow on a pretty cold day. Didn't look like fun to me but . . . . each to his own.

Not on a ride, but getting ready for the week's commuting. Managed to get 45mm fenders on my Black Mountain road, so I get to keep the 32mm rubber!
We're just starting to get some rain here in northern California, and it couldn't come too soon.

From my commute home, it's now typical fall sunrise at 8ish and just above freezing at 7ish when I head out, coming home it's in the mid 50's. In 30 more days it'll be in the high 20's with no sun on the way to work and mid 30's on the way home with no/little sun on the way home. In the end it's the most beautiful time of the year even if I have to wear warm stuff to work and my normal knickers and a windbreaker home.
