Bikes: Mostly 1st-generation, top-of-the-line, non-unicrown MTBs/ATBs: All 1984 models: Dawes Ranger, Peugeot Canyon Express, Ross Mt. Whitney (chrome), Schwinn High Sierra, and a 1983 Trek 850.

Yes, it is a Cardiff saddle and overall I like it. Is is not the same quality as an older Brooks, but for that matter the newer Brooks aren't as good either.

I agree on the modern Brooks quality, at least the basic models. The Specials are still up to traditional standards, IMHO, but demand a premium because of that.

I have two Cardiff saddles on my bikes: a Mercia and a Cornwall. Both were absolute bargains when I bought them, and I think they compare favorably to the basic B17.

It shifts pretty well, typical for a Super Record RD on a 7 speed. The extended cage does not seem to have an impact on the function.

Posted a couple years ago but I've toned it down a bit since then. Since this was taken the CODA cranks were replaced with an FSA Gossamer triple.
