From 247 to 165 over many years
Yesterday, in my low 80's (age), I weighed 165 lbs. It has taken many years, starting at 247 maybe 35 years ago, but that is the lowest I have weighed since I was about 30 years old. Just slow and steady weight loss.

Yes your are inspiring. I am at least 60lbs overweight but because of my height I probably will always weigh more than 200lbs. At 210lbs my ribs start to show so I don't know how low I can go and still be healthy. We Americans tend to be grossly overweight and I'm right in the middle of that pack. I have lost weight twice but it is hard, hard work and then I reward myself by starting all my bad eating habits again. It is one of the most difficult things I have tried to do. Good for you on keeping up your fitness regime. I follow a walking and bicycling regime. I try to walk an hour a day and ride at least an hour a day. Doesn't keep the fat off but it makes for good leg muscles.

When someone has a struggle with anything, whether it be alcohol, drugs or weight, they're always a "insert catagory here". Regardless of success. Not recognizing that can easliy result in a relapse. Good for you!

@gobicycling what kind of bicycle do you ride at 80? I hope I can still ride when I am your age. My mom had to stop driving by the age of 70 ish. She was not safe on the road.

A good thing about cycling past our "use by" date is that we usually only hurt ourselves. Can be much worse when driving.

Congratulations! I too remember the days long ago (although you've got me beat by a LOOOOOONNNG shot!) of 160 pounds!
VERY well done and envious of your fitness regime!
