Finally feeling a little better .
What is it about cold weather and being old
dang blood thinners has a lot to do with me feeling cold all the time .
But it’s 67 degrees today .
I’ve rested my knees long enough, time to get started back riding.
Taking it easy for now .
Actually rode a total of 3.0 miles in January.
2022 Goal : just to get back riding
February Goal : same
2-10 2.2 miles
MTD 2.2
YTD 5.2

I have a weigh-in on Tuesday at my doctor's to see if I've made amends for the holidays-induced backsliding I inflicted on myself. I usually hold off on weighing myself in between these weigh-ins, because who needs that kind of negativity? Well anyway, I stepped on the scales when I got home today and if it's right, I'm 18 lbs. away from not being a Clydesdale anymore, so he should be, if not pleased, at least no longer disappointed. Time will tell. And only 0.1 miles behind MattTheHat, too.

Glad to see everyone still cranking away. This has been an awful month for riding up here. Snowy, cold, and windy. However today we tied the record high temp (61F) and I had to get out despite a very strong wind (was blowing me side to side). Going to get colder, but the next week looks pretty good so I hope to get riding again.

Well this week didn't turn out like I'd planned at all. The weigh-in didn't go so well (my scale lied to me in a big way), and I only got to ride to work once. So I made it a long way home and added 11 miles. Hoping to add some more miles over the long weekend.

Crazy day today. It was 63F early this morning, now it is 25F. But I got a ride in tonight, where I was reminded why I like the MUP so much. I used to ride only on the street, and I hated the traffic and the drivers. Didn't ride much. Now with a paved MUP just a mile from the house, only my first and last mile is on the road. So tonight there was almost no traffic, and I swung a bit wide off the shoulder because it was all gravel. These idiots in a Honda Civic went by screaming "Get off the effing road!". They had plenty of room to go around, there was no traffic coming the other way. I know it is best not to engage, but I think I surprised them when I flipped them off and threw in an "Eff you!". I know, stupid, but it just came out. Been a long week (hell, been a long 24 months) and was in no mood to be effed with. Crowded residential neighborhood, so it was unlikely they would stop and confront me.

I had a steroid injection into my knuckle on my left hand last Thursday. It’s just now getting to where I can use it .
Hope it helps with the arthritis in that hand , I’ve got some bike work that I need to do .

Had been planning to do a long ride on the holiday, but had doubts about its happening because the forecast kept saying 50% chance of rain, I kept telling myself "That's a 50% chance it won't!" and thankfully, my hopes prevailed. And what a ride it was. Up over Sepulveda Pass, across the San Fernando Valley and over the hill into Calabasas, then out the canyon road to Malibu, then back down the coast to home. I had it mapped as a metric century, but after finishing 62 miles, I thought heck, I'll ride my age (64), and by the time I got home, I'd ridden my next birthday age. The Aethos just didn't want to slow down, let alone stop. Good times.

Had been planning to do a long ride on the holiday, but had doubts about its happening because the forecast kept saying 50% chance of rain, I kept telling myself "That's a 50% chance it won't!" and thankfully, my hopes prevailed. I *might* make my goal this month. A few days of cold weather coming, but I just might eek it out.
