God, yes, the man could sing! I wish he'd taken better care of himself--he might still be with us. Even if, like Placido, he'd had to reinvent himself as a baritone for his late career.

Here's English actress Barbara Steele, the Queen of 1960s Gothic Horror Films. Is that Mario Bava with her? I recall a double entendre title given to her, "the girl you'd most like to drive your wooden stake into". Now, I've got to go rewatch Bloody Sunday.

It does resmble Belinda but it's Gwen Stefani before she became famous. Also, I'm pretty sure that bike has an internal combustion engine.

Yes, it is G.S. and yes, it has 2 wheels and a motor, but thought it interesting none the less.

Being a huge fan of The Police back in the day (9th grade), I should have known it wasn't a girl from the Go-Go's. They opened dates on their previous tour (Ghost in the Machine), and the album Stefani is holding in the photo looks like Synchronicity. That was only the second live show I saw ... in November of '83. UB40 opened. (Blech.)

This is the kind of heady logic you, yourself might do when you're identifying a bicycle.

I couldn't find Belinda on a bicycle but here's Go-Go's rhythm guitarist Jane Wiedlin. Personally, I prefer the Go-Go's over The Police. God Bless The Go-Go's would be one of my 10 Desert Island Albums.

Agreed, Annie Lennox/Eurythmics too and Police over Sting by himself.

Went to a show quite awhile back where Annie opened for Sting, some clown a few rows up commented "she's pretty good" after she was done. It was all I could do to keep from telling him they screwed the line up. And to Stings credit he did play a more rock vibe show that night instead of his touchy, feely, esoteric stuff that would have put us to sleep after Annie got done with us.

I was looking for a photo of Tina Weymouth on a bicycle no luck.
I did find this though:

Charge Shot!!!: Bicycle Diaries, or David Byrne Really Likes Bike-riding

Since the early 1980s, David has been riding a bike
as his principal means of transportation in New York City. Two
decades ago, he discovered folding bikes and started taking them
with him when travelling around the world.” There’s even a
passage where talks about assembling a folding bike in his hotel
room.

This is a tweet from the present prime minister of Estonia:

Kaja Kallas

@kajakallas
Cycling to work is a good start to the day. As an MP, I often cycled to work, weather permitting. Today was the first time cycling to the office since I became Prime Minister in January 2021. Hopefully I can #biketowork more frequently in the summer.
