Wald Basket

Wald Basket
I was thinking of getting a Wald # 151 (dropped) front basket so I could pick up more things at the store, with my bike. Is that the best one to use in the Wald line-up? I like it because it's 15" across and that should fit my Wabi Fixed Gear commuter with Drop Bars just fine. What do you think?

There are actually a few companies which make quick release baskets. I liked these on my upright bike because I could take them into the store and then use as a shopping basket. No need to reload. Plus you can take it off when not needed.

Personally I would go wald 137 or 139 and just use a bag. the quick release baskets just wont hold enough weight for me.

Drop handlebars and front baskets ... eef... it can be done, but why? You need just the right basket and it helps if the bars are a compact bend. The Wabi bars look kind of Pista'ish as you would expect. Trouble ahead. I also don't see any eyelets on their frames. Also as one would expect. So how do you mount a Wald rack? Their legs don't play nice with Q/R axles, they really want 3/8" but you can use eyelets if your frame has them. I'm rocking this on the front end of my cargo bike. The basket is zip tied to the rack frame which does not steer with the front wheels. This is a good thing. On my road racer if I feel like using it for shopping I have this. It can hold a scary amount of weight. Get the next size down and thank me later.

All good ideas! I was looking for something cheap and easy to put on the Wabi Classic (F.G.) that I use for Commuting. I'll keep looking for something that fits my needs. I was thinking of getting something like Zach G. (The fixed Gear Guy.) has on his bike. Anyone know what type of basket he is using?
