RIP Paul Brodek
I learned from a post on Classic Rendezvous that Paul Brodek — @pcb — died July 21 from glioblastoma. He will be sorely missed.

He will be sorely missed. I enjoyed reading his posts particularly when he wrote about his bikes. Plus there are few C&V members who knew as much about vintage Fuji bikes as pcb . I believe (and I could be mistaken) that he worked for Fuji for a while. He certainly had a wealth of knowledge that was always appreciated. That is sad news.

Dang! Only thirty seconds ago I was re-reading his post from two years ago about the coolest shoes ever!
I have always enjoyed his posts on this forum. There's also an interview with him online somewhere about the demise of SunTour, which I really enjoyed listening to.
RIP, Paul.
Oh, and thanks for the pictures of those shoes:

It’s a sad day in cycling when someone so passionate about the hobby passes.
Paul’s posts where always meaningful and his neat fisheye profile picture always caught my eye.
I wish his wife and family all the best.

He was a nice guy that was always wiling to share his vast amount of information and experience. I have missed seeing him, and he will be missed.
And he also worked at Suntour USA as Suntour was collapsing.

This is disappointing. Very knowledgeable person, always seemed happy to share his experience with this forum.

Sorry to read this. RIP. I will miss his contributions.
In the years I’ve spent on the forums, a few faces have disappeared and left me wondering what became of them. Best wishes to Paul’s family.

Paul was a great resource and was always ready with a great story to convey the desired info. His insights into the later years at SunTour were fascinating.
For those who are interested, Diane Jenks did an interview with him on her Outspoken Cyclist podcast:

He will be missed.

Ha! No, I don't think so. I was at his house twice, and I would have made a mental note of something like that. One of those times, he showed me his garage full of bikes. His other hobby combined cameras and photography. His flickr page had so many great bikes, but those were just the ones that were done and ready for "prime time."
He was a great guy. I enjoyed exchanging emails, trading stories, and talking bikes.

Very sad news, irreplaceable cycling personality, stalwart et al.
Damnit, was thinking about calling him recently, he didn't respond to a text awhile back and I knew he had been very sick.
RIP and Godspeed my friend.

Sad news. I'd recently noticed his absence here and had been wondering, hoping for the best and not knowing he'd been sick.
I'm remembering his once posting to the CR List if I recall, showed a photo of some freewheel sprockets, offering the lot to the first person who could identify what were Suntour MicroLite cogs.
I still have them. Great guy, he even paid the shipping!
