RIP Paul Brodek
I learned from a post on Classic Rendezvous that Paul Brodek — @pcb — died July 21 from glioblastoma. He will be sorely missed.

He will be sorely missed. I enjoyed reading his posts particularly when he wrote about his bikes. Plus there are few C&V members who knew as much about vintage Fuji bikes as pcb . I believe (and I could be mistaken) that he worked for Fuji for a while. He certainly had a wealth of knowledge that was always appreciated. That is sad news.

Dang! Only thirty seconds ago I was re-reading his post from two years ago about the coolest shoes ever!
I have always enjoyed his posts on this forum. There's also an interview with him online somewhere about the demise of SunTour, which I really enjoyed listening to.

It’s a sad day in cycling when someone so passionate about the hobby passes.

Ha! No, I don't think so. I was at his house twice, and I would have made a mental note of something like that. One of those times, he showed me his garage full of bikes. His other hobby combined cameras and photography. His flickr page had so many great bikes, but those were just the ones that were done and ready for "prime time."
He was a great guy. I enjoyed exchanging emails, trading stories, and talking bikes.

Sad news. I'd recently noticed his absence here and had been wondering, hoping for the best and not knowing he'd been sick.
I'm remembering his once posting to the CR List if I recall, showed a photo of some freewheel sprockets, offering the lot to the first person who could identify what were Suntour MicroLite cogs.
I still have them. Great guy, he even paid the shipping!
