Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

We have never been to Hawaii. Third option is Puerto Rico. Maybe we should just go visit seeds??

Calcification makes sense and is not uncommon. Think phleboliths which are commonly found in veins. Ossification (bone formation) would be uncommon.

Skip PR. Instead, opt for St. John, Grand Cayman, Turks & Caicos, or BVI. Or, one of our favorite trips that is affordable and easy to get to - Matachica resort in Belize.

Maybe. But PR has mountains for cycling and Español for us to practice. And airfare there is reasonable. No firm plans yet. I would still prefer Andalucía Spain but that’s farther away.

Mallorca. Paradise.

You can practice your Spanish, German, and English.

You'd like St. John better for riding. Mountains, very low traffic, and probably the prettiest place in the US.

PR is a place you go to stay on a resort property. It's pretty congested, and I'm not sure I'd be out and about by myself due to the drug and gang issues.

There is a word I had never seen before and suddenly I see it twice within less than an hour. The second time was here. The first was my brother saying he's in the ER with a possible phlebolith, or epididymitis.

Phleboliths are typically an incidental finding on imaging and usually asymptomatic.

It’s in the works for next year. I am plotting to do the 312. Luckily, one of my local cycling friends has a house on Mallorca and plans to do the ride too.

Yup. Although his house is apparently on the opposite side of the island from the 312 start, so we may have to leave at 3AM. Clearly, first world problems.

This would explain some people I've encountered.

Can confirm. The first time I had one of those was before the internet, so I had not the slightest clue what it was.

Climbed up to the Blue Ridge Parkway today. What a wonderful place to ride!

Highest I've ever been on a bicycle, Strava says I hit about 5600' MSL. Overall 61 miles and 5200', with 3300' of that in the first 20 miles.

Fun day

My buddy that I rode with last Saturday leaves tomorrow for a week in Mallorca with a friend of his who has a family vacation house there. Unfortunately, his friends are not all my friends. Maybe I need better friends. I don't have any with vacation homes in exotic beachside locations.

I don't either. I wish you'd buy one so I could say I did.

No problem. You got time since I'll be around for a while.

Keep in mind I like warm water on my beaches.

The doors are open. I even have a few bikes you could ride. Is 60cm too small for you?

Edit: Forget it. We live in pancakeland.
