147mm vs 160mm Axle Length?
Is 147mm for single-speed? (My dropouts are 114mm.)

Bolt-on, or quick release? Also, what is the threading on your axle?
If your rear dropouts are spaced at 114mm, your bike most likely came with a coaster-brake or 3-speed hub originally. If you want to run derailleur gears, you'll need to respace it to at least 120mm.

I would leave that hub for fixed gear service.
