84/85 Trek 720

What is a low milage 22.5 in 84 or 85 Trek 720 worth? . Says it is an 85 and he only rode it about 1000 mi. Matches up better with 84 specs other than brakes (dia comp and the saddle it is not a Brooks Pro ( Brooks B17) and it has way more than 100 mi on it. doesnt have the racks or bottle cages on it. had a chrome Silca Imperio and an extra Huret Duopar eco with it?

It's an '85 frame as far as dating goes. If memory serves, that was the only year they put the model number on the downtube next to Trek. Serial number would confirm.

Can't tell too much from the one pic, but I'm inclined to agree with the original owner's assessment of <1000 mi. simply because of the lack of brake rim wear. Those anodized Matrix rims tended to wear through if ridden heavily. Doesn't look like that here.

I sold one of these a few years ago for $750, but that was completely refurbished. The market for these is still strong. As is, yours is worth maybe $500-600 to start, depending on your area.

agree with 500--600 estimate, more on ebay, but you have the 13% charge on total sale (price + shipping + taxes) and boxing it to consider.

This would be an '84. In '85 they stopped putting 720 on the downtube. The equipment does look to be correct for an '84 also.

+1 definitely an 84 based on down tube decal. But it is the exact same frame.
