Not to put too fine a point on it, I had another bee in my bonnet

So certain insects like my helmet.
I do not want to share my helmet with them.

Since I don't want to put a birdhouse in my soul, is there any sort of netting that won't restrict airflow much but would eliminate the the incursion of my pollinating pals?

You could always buy a hair net like the lunch ladies wore in the cafeteria and stretch that over your helmet.

For many years I was stung in the head every spring at the same location cutting through a local college campus on the way to work. Never failed to happen until we moved to a new location, and it hasn't happened since.

I suggest you move to a different location.

They really own that song now. There's about 3 generations who don't realize they're actually playing a cover.

I think one could write a whole dissertation about the meaning of "Particle Man", by the way.

BTW, every so often that song gets in my head and I just have to play it. And then I usually play...

That is the absolutely worst song to have stuck in your head while riding a bicycle.

Once when riding with casual shorts a wasp got up into my crotch area and stung me three times right there while I was going down the road. I started punching my self in the crotch to kill it and succeeded. Not the best time. The bike was a Norton Commando, so I was going along pretty fast.
