Took the dog for a walk at 6:30 am, the heat index was 93 and humidity was 97%, and that made my decision to just ride inside today. Heat Index was 109 at 1 pm.....just horrible outside today. Did 45 and 2600 ft of climbing.

that's dedication. I struggle with in-door rides.

Rode 72.5 miles this afternoon in 86F temperatures. My longest ride this year so far. Lots of people out on bikes today as well as runners and walkers.

Yea, it can suck that is for sure. That is the only way I can get any real climbing in other wise it is in 100 ft clips, which is worse. I did that one day where I did 12 loops over a bridge downtown, outside of it being a beautiful day, it was worse than being inside.
The real benefit on my Stages SB20 is being able to change the drive change at will so I can play around to find how certain gearing works on various routes Today, I did 2 different routes and set the drive train to a 1x setup as I have been considering changing one of my bikes over to 1x. Since I am using SRAM AXS, it would be a pretty simple switch, just change the ring and a new chain. I can also check to see if it would be better to adjust from the 46\33 that came on the bike to maybe the 48\35 or the 50\37 and how that would feel with the 10-33 cassette that came on it, or if it would be better with a 10/28. One of the routes I rode today had 15% max incline for about a mile, and found I liked the 1x with a 42 tooth up front and 10-33 in back gave me plenty of range up to about 11%. Once if got over that, I was seriously struggling. So I go into the app, change the cassette to a 10-36 and boom, no more struggle. The 40 tooth probably could have worked, but the route was mostly flat, and I found my cadence getting too high on it, so the 42 worked better. I think for my local roads outside, I could go with a 46 or the 48 and the 10-33 be fine, if I went with a 10-28, I would probably use a 42 upfront for the occasional bridge loops and when the wind kicks up.

33 with 1600’ at 15 MPH ave. Very windy which made things interesting. Rode my higher geared bike which kicked my @$$ when the grade stayed between 10 and 14% on the 2.3 mile climb. Finished up at a beautiful lake.

Just the four mile commute today, and on the eBike at that; I don’t like arriving sweaty.
probably the same tomorrow, then my clubs annual ride Saturday. I’ll do just the 26 miler, as I need some energy for the rest of the day.

thats a moving target. could be 4.5hrs could take the better part of a day. I was surprised to see so many folks out doing their thang, when typically it's only a handful of us humps out there.

4.5 is quick. The better part of the day, makes up for your quickness. 😊
