Spent the day at the ER with my wife who had a bike accident two days ago who suddenly experienced shortness of breath and dizziness. Ran her through the mill (blood tests, X-rays, CT scan, etc) and checked her road rash and determined it was a minor concussion and bruised rib and she just needs to take it easy and off the bike. This will be no easy feat for Mrs. Never Underdoit.

I got a rest day as a result and an intact spouse

Bummer, I understand the feeling when I got tripped up by my dog and I bashed my head on the door frame. It took at good couple of days for everything to sort of appear and I felt like crap for a week. The dizziness was the worse and it felt like I was sea sick for 5 days. I spent 9 months on a carrier and never got sick once, but bash your head on a door frame and it shows up. I kept getting light head whenever I raised my heart rate, so rest is the correct thing to do. I also head to turn down my monitors and sat in my pain cave home office with no lights on while I was working. The screen monitors really gave me a headache.

I went out for 80 today, but one of my riding partners got taken out by a suicidal squirrel that came for me first, decided nope, lets go the other way, then changed course again and tired to run between us, but hit his front wheel. Luckily no one was hurt, the fuzzy rat ran up the tree, his bike just suffered some abrasions on the hood covers, and he had some scrapes on his elbow, side of the knee. So we headed home after that. I ended up with 37 outside, decided to ride the trainer and did 20 inside, then mowed the grass when the rain past us by around 7 pm as we were getting some cool winds from the storm that dumped about 2 inches of rain about a mile down the road in about 25 mins.

A very long 15 hr day of programming, needed to decompress, so I did 25 miles with 1.5k of climbing inside while watching the Tour coverage. Going to have another long day tomorrow so already picked out a route to do, might hurt\kill me, but going to give Col du Tourmalet on Rouvy a go. 7% avg and 4400 ft of incline. . Figured since it was Tour de France time, I would ride some of the Tour climbs. Col d'Izoard, and Col du Chaussy also on the calendar this week.

On Monday I was 90 mile short of my 10 year goal of 50000 miles, ages 61-71. I rode 3 of me bikes 18 miles each. Tuesday, I rode my other 2 bikes 18 miles each to hit that goal. I rode my Soma Smoothie the last 18 miles, hit it as I was pulling into my driveway. It was important to me to actually get there, no excuse for having not.

21 miles, averaged 19mph. Rain might dampen the weekend miles.

Troul are you alright? 21 miles?! Two flat tires? But good average speed for riding on your rims.
