Hey now! How can I not want something I don't know about
I would just need to find the right seatpost-less upper tier project bike to be ready! Course, since I love the dumpster bikes, it would probably be a long time coming.
I do have a couple of el cheapster bikes that I could use some parts for...and I do have quite big box full of parts sitting around that I don't need. Should I sign up???

All Players and potential Players,
The Box O' Crap is again in circulation through the Postal Service. It is currently on the way to Detroit and shall move forward from there. I have packed the BOC with over $100 of new parts and hopefully items to be used by our players. I am requesting that players please show us your bikes with BOC parts installed on them. The stickers have been updated with new ones for players to add to the bikes that use BOC parts. So please show us your BOC bikes. Smiles, CrapMaster Honk

Mad Honk I too received your message to show off(?) our BOC victims/lucky recipients. I’ll need to look at past photos of what I grabbed since I have a significant case of CRS.

jdawginsc here is the Junk Box build with mostly parts thrown away at the co-op. It is sporting some Pasala tires I have no use for and some new spokes in the specially built rear single speed freewheel wheel. $2 for cables and $5 for a chain and it will head back to the co-op as a donation. I will likely get enough good-will parts in exchange to restock some of the Scrooge McDuck gold mine. Since it exemplifies the spirit of the BOC it is sporting a BOC decal. Smiles, MH
Rear rack & pedals came off the 720 that went to the scrap yard today, with 27" wheels and a single freewheel set up. Bars stem and seat were all junk parts being thrown away.
The bike gets a BOC decal in a prominent space to highlight the BOC game.

Pedal to the medal
BoC arrived just I returned from a hiking trip over the fourth holiday. Was please to see it waiting for me. Addresses and names redacted to protect the innocent.
The glorious box opened up
My take. The pedals and interrupter levers will go on Mrs. Romper's bike, she's been looking for these exact things for a some time. The seat post and campy retrofriction sifters will go on a Holdsworth project, I've heard mixed reviews on these shifters, interested to try them myself. Bottom bracket will go on the gray Trek 613 and the pliers and apron will be used extensively in the bike spa. Added some goodies that the next recipients will find. One of the hardest things about the BoC is getting the box closes again as it's full of glorious crap. Happy hunting.

The box of crap arrived last week!
I forgot to take a picture of the open box, since I was too excited to dig in. Any pile of random bike parts is like candy to me, but the box of crap affected me in a way I wasn't expecting. The worn and beaten-up cardboard box covered in layers of tape, the rudely fashioned sheet metal reinforcement inside, and the contents, which I will not discuss, were honestly touching. Most of the parts inside were garbage though Here's my haul:
I have a set of broken Silver bar-ends, and I've been searching for a set of downtube shifters to install on the pods. This dura-ace pair should do. I'm sure I can also give a good home to these delightfully chunky Motobecane-branded suntour power-ratchet stem shifters. And brake cables are always useful. None of these parts are dedicated to a particular bike yet, but once I use them, those bikes will wear a box of crap sticker.
I also had a friend come by to get their chain and cassette replaced yesterday. I'd forgotten to grab a seven speed cassette from work, but there was a NOS shimano cassette in the box, so it went on their bike.
As I was installing the cassette I realized three teeth of the the 16 tooth cog were shorn off. Fortunately I had a loose 16 tooth cassette cog laying on my desk.
The box of crap is going back in the mail today. SoCaled I'll send you tracking information once I have it. I can't wait for the next round!

Got home yesterday and left the back door open to get some fresh air. I heard someone walking up the stairs, heavy footed, as I made my way towards the door I started to hear some heavy breathing and a muffled groan. Got to the top of the stairs and found my friend/neighbor's 12 year old son dragging the Box O' Crap up the stairs. He looked up at me and said, "what's in this thing?" I replied "it's a Box O' Crap, with a metal liner, to keep all the crap in" He cracked a huge smile and just shook his head, he is familiar with my bike problem! Pics to follow, after the coffee starts working.
