Ha!
Sounds like a lovely ride.
I haven’t heard the term ‘jackwagon’ since leaving the Bridgeville side of Upper St. Clair in 1969.

Haha, I know Bridgeville, but I'd never actually heard it until I saw this commercial several years ago...

I have the privilege of riding in Colorado this week.

Bike is a borrowed Cannondale touring bike from mid 90's I think.

Weather is such a welcome respite here at around 6800 elevation.

Lows are 45 to 50 degrees and highs of 80 to 85.

In the Dallas area lows are 80 to 84 and highs of 100 to 105 or sometime a few degrees more.

I see why so many folks love Colorado.

But then again there are the winters here and I'm not into winter sports plus the cost of living and real estate prices are much higher than the Dallas Ft Worth area of Texas.

The aspen and pine trees are so awesome!

Out to the old Kakahu lime kiln today. Winter still hanging on... frosty morning and temperature barely in double figures (C) Limestone hills in the background, Woodrup in foreground.

I took my old and crappy crescent 1943 bike for a drive to work and back (14 kilometer/ 8 miles). This bike have been standing still in a old farm house for 60 years+. I got it in may, both front and back tire are orginal from the 40-50 ties, al I had to do was to change on of the hose. The bike look like a nightmare but it still runs

Eight miles on that without even checking the grease? You are brave. Now.., check the grease!!

After the big storms came through on Tuesday afternoon, yesterday was bright, sunny and cooler with lower humidity. Nice day for a 30 mile Cross County Trail scamper on the 88 Cannondale ST, part of which was with my 8-year old grandson.

Great Trek bike! Underrated beauties. This is my 930.

Agreed! Looking for another one so I can keep mine stock and mod the other. Also maybe looking at a 830 Antelope. That era of Trek is awesome.

I spent another hour or a bit over riding around Steamboat Springs, CO this morning.

The person that carved this bear and eagles out of a dead tree along the bike path has exceptionally good carving skills! Very impressive!

Here's an interesting motel sign that I suppose is named after the mountain pass you cross coming into Steamboat Springs.

In light of the above threads that mentioned vintage Trek mtbs I'll add this Trek 950 from 1989 or 1990 which are similar.

I had one of each year at one point in this same bright blue color.

I just saw it this morning at a 2nd hand sports store in town has it for sale for about 75 bucks.

Not on the bike just now but having a drink while my buddy across the way has some grass and a rest as it's gotten up to 89 this afternoon.

Earlier a female and juvenile were munching on some landscaping.

Don't worry I'm keeping a safe distance.

Took my '88 Miele AzSora on tonight's Trample ride hosted by Redemptive Cycle. Destination was a parking lot at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex to view the Swiftnado at a nearby chimney.

The C&V Lean Tree - my Miele and a Trek 930 Singletrack.

Just a few of the hundreds of swifts using this chimney during their migration.

Some wonderful murals on the side of the building where we stopped.

I’ve got a nice mate for your wife’s mixte. I took my GJ out today the first time, notwithstanding a couple short spins around the block. In fact it was the first time I’ve ridden a bike in nearly two months after a bad fall in June (shattered clavicle on a previously-repaired shoulder and several broken ribs). The shoulder felt okay, but the motor needs a tune-up. Only a few flat miles around town but even that made me feel more winded that it should have. The bike felt nice—-smooth, and stable—although the NOS Regina Record chain isn’t playing nice with the 7-speed freewheel. I’ll see if a narrower chain improves things…
