Meet The New Guy! That's his moniker for now - The New Guy - because, despite the Missus's urgings, I haven't gotten around to giving him a proper name yet. An in-law of ours found this little fella crying alone in the street, so she picked him up and drove him straight over to us. "This one's mine, just like Cinnamon and Sugar are mine," I told the Missus in no uncertain terms, my hands and lips shaking... 😅

Hello New Guy! He seems to be getting the hang of catting pretty well. Did your in-law go back to look for siblings?

She looked around and didn't find any. He's already claiming the entire house as his own fiefdom, even trying to muscle away the big boys and girls. The only one that's standing up to his childish (kitten-ish?) aggression is Sugar; everyone else just couldn't be bothered 🥱😴😄

Gotta find that favorite toy…
Digging’ in the pile!
Diving in head first!
And he’s still not using the new scratching apparatus…still thinks it’s human furniture!
I dug this out of the pile…this used show up all around the house…this might’ve been what Max was looking for…of course now he’s totally ignoring it!

think i've got it:
non-fixie was watching a footie match (or La Vuelta) on telly and the adverts came on so he decided to use the opportunity to get up for another beer
ever on the alert, equipe effe quickly took advantage of the prime spot which non-fixie had so thoughtfully warmed for them

Fireball is a community cat who was born in my backyard a year and a half ago. He's TNR'ed and I keep water and food out for him and provide shelter in cold weather. We trade slow blinks.

Pumpkin has claimed my wife’s lap.
(He’s hard to please. My wife was away for a couple days and he was refusing to eat. I got a little into him but usually he’d nibble then walk away. Disturbing because he’s already thin.
Sigh.)
He’s eating normally now that she’s back.

Our last cat ,which I rescued from a burning brush pile at approximately 4 weeks old. We bottle fed him for a couple weeks. Got upset when we got the second dog and adopted the neighbors across the street as his family. He comes by once in a while to say hi

The newly vagrant vagrant
Not mine guv
My very indoor cat has suddenly become exclusively an outdoor cat. This bizarre turnaround began soon after it began doing giant turds in our front garden in giant uncovered holes.. Upon further investigation I discovered this is not cat business but badger business! I assume the badgers are digging the house asunder (as we speak/write) and the cat has moved outdoors pending the entire house crashing down into badger hell? The cat literally darts in thru the cat flap, wolfs down its food (whilst glancing nervously over its shoulder/s) and bolts out again.
Please advise and no badgering around.

Ya'll met Blanco? Blanco is half-blind. Someone in the neighborhood spotted him around a dumpster near their home mid-August; seeing as how Blanco struggled to get to food that they left him with his eyes welded shut, they tried to catch him but he kept slipping away, eventually disappearing for two whole weeks. A couple of weeks ago, they spotted him again one evening and immediately called my wife, who promptly dispatched me for the rescue. The vet told us Blanco has corneal ulcers in both eyes and can only see blobs of light and shadow, and his chances of healing are pretty much nil. We're keeping him comfortable and happy and hoping for the best.

and what a fortunate fellow he is to have found such a loving home with you!
...do you find that would-be adopters fight over kitties with challenges or do they avoid them assiduously?

Mind if I play with your catnip mister ?
I leave deadheads from the catnip plantation just in front of it, the cats seem to prefer playing with the deadheads.

Morning coffee. Groucho likes to lick a little of it when I set the cup down, which I hold off on until I'm done. I gave up shooing him off, it only seems to encourage him. Weirdo.

[QUOTE=delbiker1;23029909]No doubt, each of the cats in my life have had one or more eccentricities... Neko, my first cat, loved licking the core after I finished an apple, especially Granny Smiths. Never have seen that before or since. While coffee can't be good for cats, there's only a tiny amount left in the cup so I'm not too concerned for Groucho. Other than that he's already naturally rambunctious, doesn't really need a boost....

had a kitty friend used to visit regularly
his human would frequently take photos with an old Polaroid Land camera
there was something in that emulsion which drove kitty cuckoo; it was like a kind of catnip for him
he would sniff, lick, bite the photo in a very excited manner

Here's Misty. She was my Father in law's, who we took on after he passed.
Here's Mosiac. We got her from the pound.
And Asher. We found him in an Academy Sports parking lot.

Finally caught ginger visiting the catnip ranch.
Tortoiseshell turned up 10 mins after ginger left, both seem happy to share.
(note to self - clean the kitchen window)
