Raleigh What, When?

What is it, and when was it? Based on the emblem and the Zeus crank… it appears to be born in the late 60’s or maybe 1970. Campy headset. That might be a Carlton seat post bolt. Zeus rear dropout? The hub surfaces are filthy, couldn’t read them.

Then, I’m guessing in the 1980’s some components were upgraded.

Experts, your input… and is it worth $80. (the frame is way too small for me, but thought it might be an interesting restoration)

Is there a serial number stamped anywhere on the frame, maybe on the seat post tube?

Unable to determine it, it’s in an antique shop.

I would agree with Juvela that it is a early 70;s likely 70 Competition or Euro Grand sport hard to tell with a lot of likely oem components but paint seems a bit off could be a partial repaint..

Worth $80? Yes and I would already own it. I am not sure about vintage but I do believe that the bike is not from the seventies. Late sixties, at best, in my opinion. Though not positive, that head badge...

was changed to this by the seventies...

That said, in those early Bike Boom days, mixing of vintages and brands was quite possible. This late sixties Carlton "Capris" was fitted, at the factory, with a Raleigh head badge, suggesting that it is possible that the OP's bike is a little newer than the head badge suggests...

I'm with juvela - this is a 1969 Raleigh Competition that started out in British Racing Green. Here's the catalog page.

I would have had a hard time leaving without that bike, and its not even my size.
That headbadge was used in the late 60's, up to 1970.
I'm not sure for how long but I thought it was a one year only badge for their anniversary year.

Worth $80? I'll give you $30 for the bottle holder and rusty straps. Now it's only a $50 bike.
