It is rewarding to do it. I am, however, going to have them anodized when I find the right place to do it. Earlier I was satisfied with the polished look but as time go by and these parts become really vintage that will not suffice for a real restoration. I have three sets to anodize - a set from 1984 and two "11". Plus a shtload och brake arms and other bits.

The really difficult crank arms will be the next generation with the silk screen logo. Restoring those... Is a totally different thing.

Can you tell me more about the triplizer ring? Are they still available or do you know of a source?

Yes I can.
No (available) - and yes, ebay

They are nicely made and look better than the "Willow" (google it) as it puts the fasteners in line with the original bolts. The Willow has them between and it looks very busy. The inner chain wheel is 74 BCD.

Edit - here is a pic stolen from the net - of the Willow triplizer:

I believe it distracts to much of the C-record design.

I bought the TA tripalizer ring in 135 bcd by accident a couple years ago thinking it was 144. I was thinking to put it up on the sales section at some point. It is NOS, but has been opened.

Campagnolo claims a largest cog of 28 and total capacity of 30 for he first edition rear derailleur. 28 might be wishful thinking - but lets play along with Vicenza. With a 50, 42, 34 and a 14-28 freewheel (I prefer Aris) and not using the cross extremes (as one should not anyway) - It might work. And I might get up the mountains for the foreseeable future.

I have been trying to get that range to work, but with limited success. It does "work", but not nearly as smoothly as I'd like. Perhaps with some more tinkering and a half-link here or there ...

Yeah, I have written about it myself in an old thread:

https://www.bikeforums.net/19759811-post41.html

But as I wrote - let´s play along with Campag and dream a little. One can always try.

My bad. This got me interested so I checked out my TA ring. Turns out it is a 42 tooth in 130 bcd. Cool, as it may now be useful to me as a half step plus granny on a 130. That could open up up a few possibilities for me in the future. Sorry for any confusion, but thanks for inspiring me to dig deeper on what I have.

Is Willow different than Red Clover?

At first, I thought the OP's triple was made using a Red Clover ring.

Red Clover -

Thanks! That's helpful. I have a Red Clover triplizer on one of my bikes and like it a lot. I completely agree about the Willow triplizer looking too busy and distracting from the C-Record crank's aesthetic.

Beautiful work on the polishing. You want to come over to my house and play with my toys?

Yes, different. Take another look at the final picture in post number six above (C-Record with Willow triplizer). Notice how the mounting bolts for the smallest ring are in between the spider arms. A busier (less open space) look compared to the TA and Red Clover triplizers.

Peter White is a distributor for Specialites TA. Might be worth a call to him.

@jonwvara Have you considered offering a 135BCD triplizer option? At the moment, I am only seeing 144 and 122 BCD options available from Red Clover Components (https://www.redclovercomponents.com/..._Products.html). If you make a 135 BCD triplizer, you can count on me for an order.

As the hoarder I am - today I got yet a Spécialités TA triplizer home. Directly from France. Tonight I ordered a matching TA 34t - also from a French seller.

Aiming for world domination of the TA triplizer market...

Specialities TA lists tripiplzer chainrings on their website.

The Vento-K is for 135mm BCD, with the 'in between' bolt placement (unfortunately):
https://specialites-ta.com/triple/19...denture,39-dts

The Alize-K is for 130mm BCD cranks:
https://specialites-ta.com/triple/20...denture,38-dts

The Zephyr-K is for 110mm BCD cranks:
https://specialites-ta.com/triple/19...denture,38-dts

Lastly FWIW, TA is still making replacement chainrings for vintage Campy Record with the 144mm BCD:
https://specialites-ta.com/53-double...%5C/5+branches

I checked the Stronglight website, and I did not see any triplizer chainrings available there.

It looks like they all (triplizers) are of the "in between spider arms variety".

I have two TA Tripleizers, one in 130mm BCD and the other in 135mm BCD. The 135mm unit looks like the above, but the 130mm puts the bolts in the middle of the spider arms. I guess they offered both throughout the years. While I would have preferred the hidden look of the other, TA kept things clean and appropriate 'celebrates' the triple and its purpose, especially on touring bikes. Like more chrome/bright trim on luxury cars compared to normal offerings, we aren't racing with a triple crankset on a road frame, we're going slower with style on a touring frame (or similar).
