Interesting to see some of the shop workarounds that occurred in production. Some of the internally routed brake cable guides are quite rough compared to others.

Wow! Thanks for documenting this information! I have been overwhelmed with the differences of the marque and don't even know where to begin to identify what EMC bike to seek. This didn't help! Now I have a source to check out any I might consider.

The serial markings and frame size are not questionable.
All those ED, AFW, EBS, TBR, FUB etc are paint pattern codes.
The VE, CET, NE etc. designations are mounted accessory groups (Veloce, Centaur Tri, Nexave etc.).
T.SCSL, TESC3, PiElite, TRHOM etc. are EMC models (Team SC slope, Team SC3, Pista Elite, Trekking Man)

Newbie
no serial Team Marc VRD
i have 2 of The Team Marc VRD (zeepentrale) bikes from Marc Dierickx and Patrick sercu, both confirmed by Marc Janssens (employee 1981-1992)
only 4 remain of this temframes without serials, Jozef Bruyere's in the bikemuzeum in Roeselare and Jos Huismans's bike is in private collection.

Priceless information!
But...
Josef Bruyere finished his career before the "acquisition" of Marc VRD by EMC, so the bike from Roeselare did not have time to be used in professional racing.
Jos Huysmans wasn't on team Marc VRD at all, he worked at EMC.
So far I have identified nearly 20 frames without serial numbers, including 5 without any markings.
Your frames are a treasure![Smilie](images/smilies/smile.gif)

Excellent work finding this Jacek
I find it cool that amongst the H and J serials are a few G, an F, and even a D that I am assuming was in for sti slides to be added to the head tube and a repaint. Also at this time still a few MX Leaders in the build too. Thanks, Sean.

Jacek, today's technical question is, what are your thoughts on the possibility of Corsa in Brain existing? I have seen recently one for sale, and searching internet seems to reveal a few more, but I am unsure if they are legitimate or not. As usual, thanks for you continued great work!

Only Strada OS (oversize tubes) were built with Brain tubes.
The Corsa model used Columbus SL or Reynolds 531 - standard size tubes.
Corsa 01 had oversize tubes.
Corsa Brain does not exist, mistakes in stickers and frame painting - they happen

Since this is the most crazy wonderful source on everything regarding Eddy Merckx frames I put this info here.
If wanting to touch up frames in Merckx code "Blue83", light blue, of the early 80ies, Motip standard colour 54450 might be the thing. I have yet to try it but if the can contains anything like what is on the can cap it looks really promising. I have some paint touch ups to do - everything from a 20x25 mm that needs to be sprayed on and blended to the surrounding paint, to paint chips that only needs a dot of paint applied with a small brush.
I will get back with the results.
