I listed these here a month or 2 ago when they were $100 for the pair. A few days later they were still listed, I reached out and spoke to the seller on the phone and made plans for a pick-up - then radio silence. They have popped up again, with a healthy price increase, maybe someone will have better luck than I did?

Good Bones for a PX10 Restoration-23 Inch Frame
No “surgery” and many of the Simplex/MAFAC/Stronglight bits still on it. Probable repaint but the chrome looks good and you can get the period correct decals from Cyclomondo.

Nishiki Alien Mountain Bike - $500 (Carlsbad)
https://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/...698149038.html
![](https://images.craigslist.org/00h0h_4c0hDaiNnz2_0CI0iP_1200x900.jpg)
From Seller:
Own a piece of mtb history!!
This was one of a couple (Nishiki/Mantis) that broke the conventional frame design back in the late 80's. Designed by mountain bike pioneer, Richard Cunningham, for Nishiki.
Nishiki Alien mountain bike. Tange Prestige Frame & Fork. Shimano Deore/LX/Deore XT components (shift levers/hubs,drivetrain/seatpost); Araya rims w/ alloy spoke nipples.
Everything works. Needs a good cleaning/overhaul, or ride as is.

Raleigh USA Technium Obsession - $50 - Santee, CA
I think it's a 1990? Seller says barely used and it looks that way. Lower end MTB but the condition is great.

A Japanese tandem does not make sense. Tandems are illegal there. They make side-by-side bikes for that reason

Very cool bike: Tange or Champion (forget which) chro-mo frame, painted metallic white, with coffee-colored decals; Diacompe cantilever brakes; 24" x 1 3/8" (!) wheels (including a rear hub threaded for a drum brake); aluminum fenders, flat bars with a mild rise for both riders; 2 x 5 drive train with Suntour derailleurs and friction thumb shifters. As I recall, the front crankset was 165 mm and the rear was 151. I believe I still have the latter set in a box somewhere.
The seatposts were very long, so the bike could easily accommodate riders from under 5 feet in height to about 6 feet.
Had a lot of fun with that bike. I remember laboring up a long, steep hill in northern Baltimore County, breathing hard, while my then-girlfriend chatted away merrily at the slowly passing scene. I wondered why she was not out of breath. I stopped at the top of the hill and said, "Get off."
"What? Why?," she said. I said, "I want to try an experiment."
I rode halfway down the hill and then sped rapidly back up.
"What was that?," she said. I said, "Susan, I'll probably never have another opportunity to say this literally to anyone, but: you weren't pulling your own weight."
She then read me the Riot Act, making up a rule on the spot that, given my little stunt, proved that I wasn't a good "Tandem Buddy." Guilty as charged.

Ban on tandems in Japan no longer in place
U.S. market bicycle. To quote the inimitable @T-Mar "Yokota was a Japanese contract manufacturer that decided to market in the USA under their own brand in the mid-1980s. They marketed a full range, but like most brands of the era, the road bicycle line was pretty thin by 1990, with the emphasis on ATBs. Also, to be competitive in the USA, after the yen revaluation, most of the bicycles were contract manufactured in Taiwan. They had a reputation for good value, though distribution was not very extensive, so they are fairly uncommon."

Somebody here was trying to sell a really beat up Centurion touring frame like the one below for $250. This whole bike is $300. And the paint looks brand new!
