Liotto - holy cow that is nice. And there's also the Gino '60 with - wait for it - drillium chainrings, centerpull brakes, and leather saddle
I may need a moment alone ...

Not sure we're going to be able to top the Gino 60. Or even match it. Need to figure out pricing.

Battaglin hasn't been mentioned so far, I think. This isn't in the repro spirit of the thread, but it does seem to represent an effort to build a no-compromise modern steel racing bike, which, of course, is exactly what the more traditional-looking lugged steel bikes in this thread were in their day.
The first steel frame in the world with oversized lugs

I hesitate to post this one. It's so close to what we're looking for but just not there
However, the downtube shifters and crankset make it worthy of at least a glance. Of course, the flat bars are a 100% fail and would require immediate replacement (preferably into a trash can) along with proper brake levers. The straight fork? Well, let's just pretend it's not there. It would be easy enough to lose the fenders, so no big deal there I suppose.

Another modern steel Battaglin, somewhat closer to their earlier bikes in spirit than the one I posted upthread (note that custom builds are available):

Yet another Battaglin (sold as a frameset only, I believe):

Man, I'm gone for awhile and porn invades the forum! ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
How about going back much farther, like 1930's style? I love my Pashley Guv'nor I picked up a couple of years ago and it stays in my normal rotation.

The Guv’nor is a revival of one of Pashley’s oldest designs, the 1930s Path Racer, but updated to cope with the demands of modern life. Legendary Reynolds 531 steel is used by our craftsmen to produce a frame with a classic slack geometry, which provides you a dynamic yet natural riding position aided by the inclusion of authentic North Road handlebars.

Crust has some lugged steel frames and a funky C&V vibe, including some lugged frames with disc brake mounts.

Really nice to see curved fork blades and level top tubes on these retro bikes!

While I have seen a Crust here and there, I had no idea. I think crust hangs out here a lot.

My thought is to make a list here of currently available brand new C&V style road racing bikes from manufacturers, not handbuilt specials. Must be tube frames only (steel, aluminum or carbon). Obviously, rim brakes only. No 'modern' groupsets allowed, unless they maintain the C&V look. BIG bonus points for downtube shifters, quill stems, lugged frames, classic-style cranksets, etc.
A beautiful example here with a very unique made-in-Italy Columbus lugged? frame available in 16 sizes
The Bottecchia Legendary. My one criticism here is the crankset - way too modern looking. But otherwise - wow! Around $3500 from what I can see.
