Yeah, that's what I said. The seller responded to my message saying he had a guy coming to look at it and would get back to me if the guy didn't buy it. Beautifully built frame and the entire bike is in excellent condition.

OK, qualifying statement: there are way rarer ECS models out there, but of the ones you're going to find in the marketplace, the Alien is very popular. Where I live I'd rather find a RM Experience, but that's just me.

The Echelon has been acquired. Apparently the owner built this up from a bare frame when he was 15 and made a handful of modifications over the years. The new owner will restore it to the original owner's 1984 build with drop bars of course. So glad this went to a good home.

Don't think that is a Merz SE edition, Specialized decal on the TT is later and that is a deeper blue, looks to be an 87.

Nishiki Alien mountain bike. Tange Prestige Frame & Fork. Shimano Deore/LX/Deore XT components (shift levers/hubs,drivetrain/seatpost); Araya rims w/ alloy spoke nipples.
Everything works. Needs a good cleaning/overhaul, or ride as is.

Telaio acciaio Grandis Max - steel frameset Columbus Max size 55/56 (Grandis makes very limited number of frames back in the late 80's early 90's , they were one of the very few brands to use the Max tubing before customising it into Overmax made to their own specs a rare frame and a steal for a frame in such good condition)
Telaio acciaio Dotti custom built steel frameset Dedacciai Zero Uno size 60 XXL (Dotti a frame builder from Brescia, this bikeframe features the Deda DR Zero Uno known for its qualities and lightweight for large frame and is tig welded)
Telaio acciaio Vetta - custom built steel frameset size 61 XXL (the Vetta name is synonym of artisanal craftsmanship like Grandis, De Rosa and Daccordi and the fillet brazing quality on this one is amazing. I have a Vetta project that I am slowly building and the quality of the fillet brazing is amazing)
