Monthly Mileage

Wow, David, you were really precise that month!
I ended up riding more in Dec than any month since July when I did a 330-mile tour.
Dec: 442 miles
Year total according to ridewithgps: 3,139 miles
That doesn’t include commuting (conservatively estimated at 15 miles per week x 30 weeks = 450 miles) or running errands or the few rides on which my Garmin watch ran out of power, so I’m close to 3,700 miles for the year. Not the 5K I would have hoped for but there’s always next year.

607 miles for December.
a total of 9425 miles total for the year.
I really need to start tracking the baked goods consumed while riding! I can say that I did stop for an Orange Chiffon cupcake on my ride on Dec 30th. Very tasty!!
Trefzger's Bakery has quite a selection of enticing cupcakes, and I plan to try a few more in 2024!

Ha! I use a spreadsheet and google-mapped mileage more often than Strava, especially for commuting routes. I don’t always do a full “lap” and instead estimate. Then I get things like that multiplication artifact of hundredths times tenths. I normally have decimal points set to one, but that one eluded me.

But, my record year was 2007. 15,350 miles. 269 Days. Averaging 57.1 miles per ride. I did it while working. If you counted my commute, I was doing 11.5 hours a day for my job. Living on 4-5 hours sleep. It's an addiction for me. I guess it's better than heroin.
Edit: I just checked my records. My second year of retirement (2017) I did 15,584. 296 days. 52.6 average.

We had an astonishing February weather-wise. Got out 7 times for 158 miles. All weekday, after work rides.

We’ve had barely any snow this winter in the Boston area though Feb temps were cold (or at least seasonable). That meant a fair number of opportunities for shortish rides:

January: 442 miles, 1 baked good
February: 634 miles, 5 baked goods.
the chocolate raspberry cupcake was quite impressive:
... but the basic chocolate donut with sprinkles is nothing to sneeze at (and it's not hygienic to do so)

These days, I don't have much time for riding for riding's sake. Thank goodness for bike commuting. But I barely rode in February. My logging app says I rode only 7 miles, though it might have been slightly more since I sometimes forget to hit the Record button. The weather made me not feel like bike commuting. This month is looking better already. I commuted twice this past week, and it felt great.

Only got out once for 31 miles. Work, weather, holidays, and family all conspired to keep a lid on riding.

Vacation, rain, and work craziness resulted in only 2 rides in April. Would like to top 600 by June

This was actually a bad month for me. I missed a lot of days due to rain, a bout of vertigo, injections in my eye (ouch) and concrete work.
